So I got pulled over on the way home from Green2000's cause my tag lights are out. Thing is...my truck's tag lights haven't worked since I got it, and the rear bumper has been off for months. The officer counted seven empty beer bottles in the back of the truck. And I didn't have my wallet (or my license, or my military ID, or any ID of any kind). And my name didn't come up in the system even after I told him my license is in Ohio.
I got a warning for my tag lights, and he sent me on my way
Big shout out to Howard County, Maryland's finest
EDIT: For the sake of clarity, I was sober. I had been drinking earlier, and some of the empty bottles were in the truck bed.

least it wasn't MSP....
generally as long as you're honest and polite, they'll give you a warning. cause otherwise it means about 5 hours at least of paperwork for them. MSP on the otherhand. something in their training turns them into, well you know how they are (at least a good portion of them)

New injectors!
703s have been installed. The swap was much easier on the 'Manche than when I put 784s on the XJ. Still backfiring, no major change. Next victim of money throwing will be the Camshaft Position Sensor (not Crankshaft), and my harmonic balancer will need some love soon, too.
Besides all that, the most iconic piece of my Jeep has been removed. I got tired of the busted plow mount, and 96xjclassic was kind enough to greet it with an angle grinder. Don't worry, folks. That angle iron is going in my living room as a decoration.

See that you are having a good time trying to figure out your backfiring issue. When I had bad backfiring when I bought my jeep, it was an easy fix of just replacing the cap and rotor. Not sure if you have done that or not. Good luck tracing that down.

I'm thinking Camshaft Position Sensor, distributor, or timing chain.
