You would never even begin thinking about lowering a vehicle here in PNG. The town I live in has dirt/rock roads that are less than flat, especially with rain damage. The highways are riddled with potholes. They're so bad right now that our auto shop refuses to let people rent their vans for trips beyond the next town.

i think he is talking about the roof rack. it sits a bit high. You might look at fabbing up a wind/branch deflector to keep branches and such from getting sucked under the rack. it will help keep wind noise down as well.
Shipment of stuff ordered in July and August arrived this week.
I spent the morning removing the old bumper (no more zip tie holding the license plate on), installing the Rough Country winch bumper, Smittybilt XRC 12 winch and Optima yellow top battery. Just as I was connecting the cables to the battery, the heavens opened. I got soaked by the time I finished, but that stuff is done.
I still need to mount the 60" Hi-Lift. I'm going to mount it on the side of the roof rack, but the bolts that came with the mount aren't long enough. I need to see if my local hardware store has anything that will work. If not, I will need to order some and have them DHL'ed here. I also need to install my KC HiLite fog lights on the bumper. A month ago, I went down to another part of the country. While going down the Kasam Pass (a windy descent covering a change of 4500 ft in just a few miles), I was thankful for the factory fog lights as I encountered the worst fog I have seen on the pass.
In March, I will get and install new shocks, leaf springs, brakes and a 2" budget lift. Once those are installed, I will get some 31x10.5 mud tires.
I got the spacers (1-1/2" Hubcentric) installed and tires rotated first thing this morning. I had to remove the factory stud clips from the front hubs. Then this afternoon I got my KC HiLite fog lights installed.
The last of my mods for the year is done. I installed some Hi-Lift mounting brackets to the side of the roof rack. The only planned things are an oil change this weekend and new front brake pads when they arrive via DHL in December.
