Hi yall, this will be my first build so any constructive criticism will be appreciated.
I have here a 1993 2wd Country edition with the 4.0 and an auto trans. it has 236xxx miles and is running like a champ still. I picked it up for next to nothing thanks to the ugly faded paint and the major gangster lean in my drivers seat.
Here is a list of my hopeful mods( feel free to recommend any mods i may require to make it more stable/reliable)
1. found some retreaded tires that i cant pass up, treadwright.com
2. budget boost lift kit. I want to stay within 3'' so i dont have to extend brake lines, etc. (no idea what company to go with, recommendations anyone? i wanna stay within a reasonable budget including install)
3. herculiner bedliner entire jeep exterior( Doing it myself)
4. roof basket with offroad lights (hopefully homebrew)
5. offroad bumpers

Welcome to CF. Any plans to convert it to 4wd? I also herculined my entire XJ. I picked up a textured paint sprayer from harbor freight and sprayed it on. The prep work is what really sucks, I spent two days with a grinder and flapper disk taking all the paint off... Not sure if I would do it again.

Also the herculiner faded to grey after a few months so I gave it a rattle can job over the bedliner. It's much easier to clean now and turned out pretty good.

thanks for the welcome.
I would eventually like to convert, but i dont have too many places that i need 4x4. I had a 99 TJ and took it to all of my local mud holes to try to get stuck and just couldnt so right now it isnt too much of a priority. But if i do convert it, what is involved?
I have heard and done a lot of research on the bedliner and thats why i chose to use the Herculiner. from the videos and my friends who have used the same product said it was fairly straight forward so long as ive prepped well enough. When you prepped yours, did you use any air tools or sand by hand? i know sanding by hand will take a lot longer but i dont have an air compressor large enough so i hope to do it by hand (atleast as much as i can until i break down and just rent one lol)

I used a harbor freight angle grinder and a drill with a flapper disk. You can spray paint right over the bedliner, I scrubbed the crap out of it with a hard bristle brush and used about a half gallon of degreaser on it.

4x4 conversion is pretty straight forward. Best route to go is to find a donor XJ. You'll need the front axle, drive shaft, transfer case & linkage, and either a transmission from a 4x4 or the output cone off a 4x4 transmission.

We got a 3" Zone lift with new rear leafs. Looks great and works well so far, have not taken off road yet...
The 31x10.5 x 15's work well too. Minor rub on a plastic piece of fender at full crank, cut it off!

Alright so I got off of work and decided to try bedlining my flares.
Tomorrow I'm gonna finish the other side and then do all my rockers, bumpers, and if I have enough my hood.

Today my jeep just rolled over 237k on the original motor/trans and runs like a champ still.
My catalytic converter is making almost a rattling noise as if something may be shaking around inside of it. Any ideas?
