project zj cummins
currently i have a 93 grand cherokee with the 4.0l straight 6. 3 inch suspension lift on 33s. i just bought a rollover 95 ram 2500 with the 5.9l cummins in it and i am planning to swap motor tranny trans case and axles. should be happening in the next few months so i will post pics. i know i will need custom driveshafts and im not sure about suspension yet. let me know what yall think and if you have seen this done before.

will be cool but the weight of the engine is twice the weight of the 4.0
holy crap, this build is gonna be amazing
i cant wait to see how you're going to fit that cummins in the zj, along with the drivetrain. altho to be honest i'd much rather see it in an XJ  |
gonna be sweet for sure.
Can't wait to see how this turns out.
well i have all the equipment i need (torches and welders) heavy duty springs upfront frame supports since when im done ill be pushing about 800 lbs of torque. but its def gonna be awesome when im done. ill still be running a straight 6 haha.:thumbup1:
thats going to be saweet!!! keep us updated
Thats goinga be sick and if you use bio-diesel you can make the trails smell like french fries

X2....^ use bio-diesel save the planet we wheel! i love the cummins :-)

Bad ***. I'll be following this closely. I have been thinking about doing the same thing to my xj for a few months now.

Looks like a good build. You'll need to consider putting or building frame stiffeners, otherwise i dont think you'll have a zj that has a straight body with all that torque haha Also what kind of springs you going to run up front to help counter the weight? |

You could always go to the hobby shop and get some of the model rocket engines about 10k should do although stopping may be an issue
