i did that same thing with the galvanized T, but all i had was a little bit longer nipple in that size. the guage wont read when im driving. i dont think the water goes all the way up to the sensor. its like it just flows by it. does yours do this?

got a new 3 row csf radiator, hood vents, frame stiffeners, and an 8.8 going in soon. still waiting for my finger to heal up. also the other night i went to the movies and when i came out my wing window was broken and my stereo was gone. so i also have a new stereo to install with a new dash overlay. hopefully i can do all of this pretty soon. when this gets better.

dropped a solid steel bar on it that weighed about 60 lbs. it crushed it off like a guillotine. just got the stitches out yesterday, so its time to work on the jeep

after two coats. waiting on that to dry right now. im going to buy some dynamat to put down over the bedliner, then bedline over that again. this will keep it much quieter and cooler in the jeep.
