Project XJ_ATX has begun
Finally, procured a 99 XJ Classic after 4 years without a Jeep. Sold a 2004 Jag and couldn't be happier.
First thing for project XJ_ATX is to give her some breathing room
So we start be removing the stock air box.
Ok, after only 20 minutes from removal to install, here's the new K&N air filter and plumbing.
Next, I will be installing a new exhaust manifold, walker front pipe, high flow cat, and dynomax cat back exhaust to replace this rusty old thing.
Let me know if you'd like to know anything about plans for project XJ_ATX.
And as always, have fun and keep the wheels wheeling.

Altitude adjustment completed. Installed a Rough Country 3" Series II lift and I am very happy with the results.
The install was a pain in the rear (literally) since I went with full leaf packs in the back. It was rather difficult to get them to squeeze into the factory shackles and the front bolts for the stock rear leaves were frozen in there. Several days of PB Blaster and a long breaker bar and they came out fine.
Then on to the front coils
As if I didn't spend enough on the lift, I just had to start on the exhaust. Out with the old.
And in with the new APN header, front and rear pipes, high flow cat, and Dynomax muffler (should have gone with a Flowmaster, i know)
Since the Jeep can definitely breathe out well, now let's make sure we can inhale deeply. In come the JeepersandCreepers 62mm throttle body and K&N CAI.
I went ahead and replaced the whining power steering pump and put a new belt on while I was in here. A word of caution that the K&N CAI will not work in combination with a Poweraid throttle body SPACER. The hood would not close. The bored out throttle body was a much better choice anyways but just wanted to share that with you if you are considering that route. The JeepersandCreepers 62mm throttle body is awesome and I definitely noticed a seat-of-the-pants improvement in throttle response.
I have the following coming up so stay tuned:
Cragar 342 D Window Wheels - order and on their way
31" or 33" tires (haven't decided how much I want to trim)
Roof Rack with Tire Carrier
SYE
New driveshaft and U-joints
Front and Rear Bumpers with recovery points
Blackout for the front and fender flares
Lights
White gauges (to work with the white XJ color scheme)
Clear lenses for the front
