Default Nice job

Hey there. Nice job man. When you took the valve cover off how long did it take you? I have to change out the valve gasket and I've never done it before. And the seats? I took mine apart. Used Clorox 2 safe color one, scrubbed it with a brush and it got every stain out. Just a suggestion if your lady let's you play on the jeep again. Lol! And I'm about to redo the downpipe and cat with o2 sensor.

I think the valve cover took me about 10 minutes to get off. The cables to the throttle body just pop off and the bracket that lines them up was just 3 bolts. Just be careful to not drop a bolt. I did and it took me 3 days to find it.

Im gonna have to try something on the seats. Granted they look really good for 20 bucks. The carpets are in worse shape as you could tell from the one pic after I pulled the drivers seat. Im debating on attempting to clean it or pull out all the carpet and bedline it.

Im currently trying to figure out if my battery is toast or I have some sort of parasitic loss in the electrical system. Every night that I jump it it starts and the alternator charges. Im getting good indications from my battery gauge on the dash just when I go to start it the next day it cranks slow and then dies

Im thinking its the battery. I have an Optima Red Top in the TJ that Im gonna move over and test my theory. The battery in the XJ is a walmart special from the inlaws and God knows how old it actually is.

On a plus side I got all the parts to finish my exhaust tail pipe yesterday but they had no exhaust clamps at pep boys even though their inventory said that they had over 150 for a 2 1/2 in pipe. Hmmm makes you wonder sometimes.

Well great news. Took her to get inspected and what do you know. She passed. So now phase 1 is done. Time to start the periodic maintenance that I'm sure she needs. Plus time to start painting trim and such just to freshen it up.

Wound up having the alternator sieze up while I was stopped at a light today. Nuked the belt at the same time. I was able to get to the side of the road and replaced the alt and belt in the rain. No pics just a stupid lil update

Got some nice weather here finally. I decided to paint all the trim pieces and buy a new window regulator for the drivers side window so that it would actually work. No pics of the regulator install. Thats straight forward. The painting came out great. I couldnt be happier.
