Hello fellow XJ owners. Fairly new to the Jeep world, from Oklahoma and actually work as a parts guy at a Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge dealership here.

On to the Jeep..

I have had her since October '12, bought it completely factory with blown shocks, blown hatch shocks, broken liftgate latch, broken license plate bezel, and needing a tune up. Went ahead and fixed everything the first few weeks of owning it and bought the floor liners. Changed out the t-case fluid, transmission fluid/filter, and the oil. All the fluids were pretty filthy.

Installed the crown steering linkage kit in november. Then I sold some new BFG's to a Rubicon owner here at the dealership and took his old take offs, since they still had a bit of life left. Installed those and the brakes in January.

Decided to go play in the snow back in Feb. before I bought my lift and got her pretty stuck.. so finally decided to get the lift, went with the rough country 4.5 inch add a leaf because of the price and bought the rubicon express track bar since the rough country kit didn't come with one. Finally installed the lift which took longer then expected, thanks to a few pesky bolts. Next purchase will be extended brake lines, quick disconnect front sway bar endlinks, and a new Daystar poly trans mount since mine is pretty much shot.

Specs:

2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport
4.0L 4x4
Dana 30 Front
Chrysler 8.25 Rear
NP231 T-Case

Rough country 4.5in Lift (Add a leaf)
Crown Auto. Steering linkage upgrade
Rubicon Express adjustable track bar
Pro-Comp steering stabalizer
CARR gutter mount light bar
KC brand lights x 4
Front EBC Greenstuff brake pads
BFG Mud Terrain's off of a newer Rubicon (close to a 32")
Weathertech front floor liners
Huskyliner cargo liner

Plan on going up to a 33x12.50, smittybilt FR/RR bumpers and winch, throttle body spacer/edge programmer, snorkel, and later on bigger axles/lockers.

Here is the day I got her.

LOL yeah, you'll quickly find that you can't post nothin' on here without pics! Sounds like you got a plan! What tires are you going to run and why are you looking at bigger axles for 33" tires? If you going to upgrade your axles do some 37"!

XJwonders 04-24-2013 06:38 PM

X2 on pictures!

XJNemb 04-25-2013 09:00 AM

lol I was leaving work so didn't have time to post up the pictures! Got them up there now. Its a little beat up, but who cares since she is going to be seeing mud/trails. Looking at the Micky thompson baja mtz's, depending on budget or Kelly TSR's. Not sure on the axles yet. I really want them to handle some abuse..

Got a few new goodies the other day. Daystar poly trans mount (mine was shot), Rubicon express stainless braided extended rear brake line, and a warriorproducts steering box brace. Hopefully have them all installed this weekend!

So my XJ started giving me problems after a small trip through some mud/water. After a few days my alternator decided to give out on me. Soo I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the dakota 5.2l 136amp alternator. After about 2 hours of messing with it (Changing the alternator was more of a ***** then I expected) I ended up installing the new one without grinding down the bracket so I could not get the bottom bolt in, and I left the 7 groove pulley on. It runs great now though! lol

Take those shock boots off if you like mud!

Nice Jeep! Put the flares back on

XJNemb 05-18-2013 09:06 AM

haha those shock boots were too much work to get on. lol and I would put the flares back on if I had them. I was missing a few when I bought the jeep and the rest fell off. I took the brackets off a few weeks ago and pulled out the splash guards. Looking at the bushwacker flatstyle fender flares down the road

Had a little sunday funday here in Enid. There isn't a lot around here, but found this little trail and mud area. Got high centered on a huge dirt/clay mound and had to get pulled off. It was a good day though lol

Went out again last night. Had quite a bit of fun with a few friends. Got her stuck in a creek and winched out. The bottom was all big rocks... It still ran after with no water in the intake or oil. I will have to check all my fluids once I get a chance to work on it again.

What wheels are those...? Rubicon takeoffs but do you know what they're called?

XJNemb 05-23-2013 08:47 AM

The tires are BFG Mud terrain's and the rims are a factory 17inch off of a magnum maybe? We had the rims in storage at our dealership.

Cool Jeep, but you should really put the flares back on, or trim them.
