Project: Tiffany

As my first post I'd like to share my first build. I don't have any pictures before it was all built back up to running but just imagine a poorly painted rusty Cherokee with a blown head gasket, busted track bar, and tires that were pretty much racing slicks. So yeah. A fully functioning jeep.

After a lot of time reading walkthroughs on here and a lot of winging it I got to here. This is probably going to be less of a actual mechanical thread but more so how to take a 1000 **** heap and make it into one hell of a pretty boy.

6 inch lift with rubicon springs up front and add a leaf in the back. Rancho shocks and old man emu steering stabilizer.

It never had a sway bar but I haven't noticed really. First order of business was a new track bar.

I went with the iron rock off road dual shear system and it was painless. The instructions that came with it were fine and I had no trouble getting it on. Getting the old stuff off however required a lot of patience, elbow grease and pb blaster.

So far so good.

It ran fine through the winter and got me through quite a few storms no problem. Loving it already.

Next up was realizing my jeep had a strange way of attracting wasps. Lots of em. In the doors, in the trunk, and in the headliner.

So a few cans of raid later I ripped out my headliner.
The wasps did a number on it and it just crumbled after I barely pulled on it.

I found a new one at my closest jy with a head console. Mine didn't come with one factory so I went into this knowing it wouldn't work. But at least I had a lead liner and my jeep was slightly less of a pressure cooker.

I'll end up getting creative with that head console as time goes on. I think it will be my switch panel.
After I can afford stuff to switch on.

I also realized that the trunk was rusted through after ripping up the carpet. So yay for me. A little welding, bondo, and desert tan truck bed liner later and it no longer sucks as bad. So yay.

The water came from my rear fenders so that got covered as well. One more problem done.

Now comes the fun part. Painting. I had originally rattle canned it flat black to cover up some body work and some rust but after a couple trail runs I got a huge dent in my fender and it started to chip where the old paint had already started to go. As a few of my original pictures will show. And now the reason this build is called Tiffany.

I decided to go with Tiffany blue. Because obviously with such an expensive name backing the color it'd have to give me some extra POWAH.

All jokes aside I honestly love the color and I've never seen a jeep painted that color. So +1 for being fancy.
