Default Project "Slowgo" XJ Build

A little History on the jeep. Bought it in Tenn. for $1k drove it home almost 400 miles with a water leak, and a tick in the engine. It has 255k miles with the 4.0, auto. 4x4. I have owned it for a year and just trying to fix stuff thats wrong with it at the moment. Heater Blower, Leaf Springs, and a few other things.

Its been a good jeep but has it problems. I am beginning work on it, I already fixxed the water leak and steering problems. But Its coming, I didnt have a place to post pics or show my work so I wanted make a build thread, but this is going to be a slow build cause I have to pay for other things.

Fixing my Door Handle, Was an Easy task but the clips that hold the bar broke so I had to use other means to make them stay.......zippy ties are good.

Another View

Put back together.

After some much needed "Me" time today I now have my CB radio installed, It was pretty simple since I didn't have a hard time finding a hole in the firewall. Its a Cobra 29LTD Classic with a 4 foot antenna off the back bumper which will prob move soon cause it catches on the rear hatch.

I could not see a better place to mount it then there.

Jeep looks good! That's exactly where I mounted my CB as well. I compeltely understand about the slow build too, mine's been pieced together mostly from things found on craigslist.

Thats where I got the idea I think, plus the PO also had one mounted there.

well mine is going slow cause I have to fix allot of things first, rust and broken wipers, heat, heater core, and a few other things in the suspension, saggy leaf springs, locked up tie rod, needs an alignment and have to get the tie rod fixxed first.

But when I have no time, I have the money when I have the time I am broke....life.

Guilty Pleasures.....

So Today is my birthday and while I am having a party I bought my own present.

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/product...er=ARB-CS034RA

That should take care of those saggy leaf springs. I cant wait to get them even though now my rear will be up higher then the front, I will have to jack up the front next.
