Default Project Skunk 2

After looking something moderately built after selling the red Xj(which was a mistake I know)and looking at a buncha junk that other people had all ready hacked up and/or overpriced I decided the only way to get what I wanted was to just start over so....1995 with 136000(60k less than my other one)bone stock with the exception of a Kenwood deck. Ex Maryville Water Dept Jeep. Seems to run better than the 98 did.Jason @ Rock Your 4x4 is ordering shiny new parts for me this week!I am excited to get this show on the road.

My first build was just"RedXj"but usually just got referred to as the Skunk by my buddys instead of Skunkape.NO import connection.

Thank you sir,I got a whole buncha parts ordered today so I started yanking old stuff out and getting ready for them!Every bolt came out without much trouble,even the upper shock bolts!Of course I PB blasted alot yesterday. I trimmed the rear fenders(typical cut and fold method)and then painted the 1/4s and will do the rockers too after I have trimmed the front.

I believe as tony would say, "Can't hide money" lol. Glad to see you get some wheels back man!

I was pissed, I was suppose to go to Harlan this weekend and camp/wheel all weekend but instead I got hosed at work friday night and didn't get to make the trip. I am itching to go, so you had better get that thing built quickly!

I am grinding it out!I got a few things done today, didnt get many pics because I was busy fighting rusty bolts and such but I got the TC drop done what a pain,bolts came out good but the studs were a different story.PB blasted then tried the double nut method...no dice,visegrips tighten,loosen,tighten loosen,PB blast tighten,loosen,cuss,then I ground the stud square on all sides and finally got them out(both sides).Got the axle wire wheeled and painted and under the rear. New brakelines installed front and rear.Then to punish myself a lil more I did the driver side control arms a drop brackets.I just kept telling myself this is supposed be fun and make my rig better!I can tell the flex joints are going to be a big improvement.Oh did the Ubolt conversion on the rear drive shaft too.;

Trimmed my front fenders today and notched between the pinch welds on the inner fin thingy and folded that over for a lil extra clearance.Added a little paint for rust protection(and style points).Then some door trim on the fender.Was hoping to get the lift finished but turns out RE forgot to send my bushings for the rear shackles.

Been working crazy hours at work so I didnt have any quality time in the garage untill today!I spent the entire day in the garage,I got the extended brake lines done,the shocks installed,double sheer track bar and mount installed and the entire lift finished and wheels and tires on.I also got all of the fenders cut and then finished the fronts with edge guard.I still need to bleed the brakes and install the Big Daddy tie rod and get aligned. I like the stance alot too.I am totally beat but in a good way!Time to kick up my feet have a frosty beverage and wheel the Web....
