project save from scrap yard

I bought this 99 sport on craigslist last weekend for 1200. The motor runs strong, tranny shift, and 4wd works great. The body is very rough and they had put a pre 97 front end on it. It has a 6in lift with 36/12.50/15 tsls. They did not put a sye in the transfer case, and welded the rear. The pass rear window doesnt go up, and they always took the doors off when mudding. To say the least the interior is prety much getting tossed.

Now for my plans. I am going to take the dash apart and clean all the plastics, and toss the head liner and seats. I will be putting in a sye, and probably putting in another 8.25 with a locker instead of being welded, since this jeep will see a lot of road use. I will also be putting on my 33/12.50/15 tsls radials, and selling the 36in. Im going to add a lot of body armor, in the form of sliders, tube fenders, plating the quarters and front fenders, and making bumpers. I am going to replace the doors and fenders with ones off of my other jeep that has a blown motor. The cleaning and body parts are first on my list. Then i will slowly do the rest as time and money (and wife) allow.

I tore out the interior, and shop vaced the whole thig today. There is mud under all of the panels. Tomorrow I am going to take it to the car was and spray out the inside. Here is a pic of what i started with.

This pic doesnt even show the complete mess the interior was. I had to pull the head liner down cause it was falling and full of mud, the seats are all full of mud except for the driver seat. Ive got the panels all cleaned and as soon as I spray it out I will get them put back in. Saturday im going to try to get the doors fenders and hatch replaced. I know some people think i should just make a toy out of this jeep, but I take pride in making even my toys look good

well today i was able to get the dash cleaned ad put back in along with the center console. I have pics but my phone broke and need to get a new one so i can upload them. Hopefully this rain will stop soon, it has been raing for 3 days and its suppose to rain again tomorrow and the jeep wont fit in my garage. When the rain does stop im going to get the doors and seats switched out from my parts jeep, then i will be able to drive it. I will upload pics as soon as i can

I guess my pics didnt get saved on the memory card in my phone so i dont have any in progress pics of the interior but i will get some up of how it looks now. I did drive it on the road for the first time today. I found out that a rim is bent cause it gets massive death wobble at around 35-40. I know its not anything else cause all ball joints, tres, axle ujoints, steering stabilizer shock, track bar, and track bar drop have all been replaced. The only thing i can think of is either a rim or multiple rims are bent. It also has some pretty good bump steer going on. The rain should be done for a while, so hopefully i can get outside tomorrow and get all the doors switched out. I will have pics up asap
