It does have rock sliders. It is 2"x5"x3/16 tube. This is the reason for the notch in the 2x4 tube in the jeep. It ties the driver to the passenger.

Looks like a lot of work, but I am jealous that you can do that kind of work. I have never welded before, but if it is anything like soldering, I would need to practice a LOT of welding before anything I weld together would work, lol. Looking great so far, and am looking forward to watching this build. :-)

I was for sure not looking forward to the rust repair. Welding the thin metal is a real PITA. That's why I opted for more strength where needed. Now I hope to wheel this thing.
