Default Project Red Rocket!!!! Yeah I know

So after many months of fighting with my original project, I was moved to chop it up and start new. Which brings me to today. I scored a 91 bone stock XJ with 225k miles on the odometer. Obviously it has its typical issues as with any 26yo vehicle. Looking forward to starting this build, but will mainly be a daily runner. 4.0HO NP231

Small update on the project. Took it for DEQ inspection and passed, thankfully. Had aome free time today to start pulling out the old nasty carpet and to my amazement there was only a little rust on the floorpan, so going to wire wheel it and rust correct it before putting on bedliner. Took the back seat cover off and washed it. Now my fight is the hacth wont open. I push the button and nothing happens, so have to figure how to correct that problem.

And cleaned up the engine bay. Want to hit it again and with pressure

Finished pulling out the last of the funky carpet from the back. Hatch is still locked shut at the moment, will make a attempt at popping it open when my daughter takes a nap.

Removed front and rear bumpers to sell to a buddy. Will start looking into which bumpers to go with. Probably going to start installing my rear lift and 8.25 swap. Trying to decide if I want to do a hack and tap or and actual sye.

So ordered a headlight harness off ebay. It is a $18 Hella knock off. But it has ceramic plugs and sports some berry 12ga wiring.

Quick little update. Ordered Raptor liner roll on stuff and got it last week. Yay. Now I have to clean out all my tools and do some prep work. Unfortunately working 12hr days at night and having a family kinda tightens up tinker time on my jeel. Probably will try and get a good start on prel work today(tomorrow) and wait for a good weekend to do my roll on work. Would have bought the spray kit, but I dont have a compressor that can keep up the demand.

So finally had some good weather in Oregon today(and a day off from work and being a dad). Did my roll on raptor liner kit. Went on way better than other roll on kits. Might order a second kit and make it a little thicker

Subbed. I hear you, with a job and a young family, it's hard to find time to work on the Jeep.

I find that giving it a couple hours each Saturday works pretty well. Just 2-3 hours. Or 1 hour. My last update all I did was sweep the garage floor and remove the passenger shock. Then the baby was up from naptime and I was family time.

It is slow going, but progress is made each week. And you can post an update each week, or mid week - then people respond and you get some motivation to do it again the next weekend.

Trimmed fenders installed. Have some finish trimming to do to complete the front then it's time to comp cut the rear and trim the rears. Burned off the pin strip and continued to chip away at the ever lasting process of paint prep

Quick update. Been busy few months with work, summer time seems to be the longest run hours for us construction boys. Finally placed my order for my B Lees long arm kit and took advantage of their promo that ends today. Can't wait to get the rest of my parts need to install and get her done. In other news getting ready to buy a house so money priorities have to be set right

Well my B Lees long arms arrived a couple days ago. Waiting on the rest of my goodies. My brake lines are on back order and steering and track bar is lost somewhere in USPS. Was out of town for work when the brown truck showed up and my wife dragged my B Lees box into the garage for me. Can hardly wait to trailer the Jeep into my shop and get her together
