Thanks guys. Gatchmo, I would love to go bigger but this is my wife's dd. so 3" and 31s is practical, hence the "poser" nickname. She loves driving it.
As much fun as I am having playing with it. Might be buying a junker to build. Got the xj itch now. |

Thanks Purple,
When I do the lift, I am gonna change the diff fluid and weld a flange nut on the cover with a plug. get rid of old leaky rubber stop. :gun_bandana: |
Nice find on the rims man!

Ordered the rc lift, pics coming soon!

Subscribed! Jeeps looks great and I'm looking forward to watching your build. Good luck! I've got a '98 Classic that I've had since 2000. Had 18,000 miles when I bought her and just turned over 105,000. I finally got around to lifting mine over the summer and have been working on it ever since - stripped the interior, replaced rusted floor sheet metal, and just a variety of things done to keep her in running shape. Its been a blast and I wouldn't trade my XJ for anything. Definitely one of the most reliable and versatile vehicles I've ever owned.

Thanks A15
Ok, with the 3" lift coming, I have the springs, sway brackets, shocks, hardware. Do i need to get brake line extensions? Is there anything I am not thinking of I might need, when I go for the install? Anybody know any parts besides the upper bolts for the shocks that will be a :brickwall: I would much rather buy some extra parts and have them on hand, instead of scrambling the day of. Any advice is greatly appreciated. :thumbup1: I am gonna look at getting longer sway bar links, instead of using the brackets, and brake lines was the only other thing I could think of we might need. Besides the 2 cans of pb blaster I am going to go through the week before the install. |
Shock boots will prevent rust and squeaks. This is a ideal time to put em in. Can of Moovit. Torch. A friend to help get ur new springs in. And patience
