Nice and I thought us Yoopers were the only ones that would probably have snow stick around for a few days. You got quite a bit more than us too! I love snow wheelin, so much easier to clean off...just park outside when the sun comes out.
Project notes update: more for myself to save as a reference i have to write everything down)
Our club 4x4 show is may 20th, so i will hold off on installing anything else so i can make it. Was hoping to have all my Cav-Fab gear(3-link and steering) done and installed, but it looks like it wont even arrive for another 2 weeks. Good things come to those who wait i guess. Another guy in our club with an MJ ordered the same thing, and when he got the first "it will ship in 3 days" he put it on jack stands and tore everything out from under it awaiting arrival, so it has been on stands since the beginning of march.
After the show i need to do the following:
Install cav-fab 3-link
install front stainless lines
install 4.5" coils
install spartan rear locker
install diff covers
install steering box spacer
straighten front frame(BFH or portapress work)
flush all fluids
replace vaccum lines
Club Run June 3rd and 17th
Finish center console
fix clusterfudge wiring
order fuse block
do the WJ booster swap(need to bend and reflare the MC lines)
delete the height sensing valve and see if the chevy rear line, or the stainless line will fit, if not, i need to put a new double flare nut on there(have to get a flaring tool, ugh)
Order remainder of zj disc brake gear(i have big davids kit)
install the zj distribution block
bleed brakes
strip interior and clean rust/add sound proofing
replace power steering lines
diagnose possible bad EGR valve
purchase interstate Megatron
Purchase bumper and winch
Purchase new rear bumper(nates4x4 bent after one YJ recovery from a snow bank, now tailgate wont open)

Lame...were you using the d-ring points or the tow hitch? Now I'm nervous about using the winch on mine...I've got 2 spare trailer hitches maybe welding on some reinforcement might be a good idea?

You can see the gap if you look at the tailgate line on the bumper. That was from 1 tug using a d ring tab. which is welded right to the frame mount. The mounts are still even on the rails on both sides. so somewhere in the mount it bent.

Hmm. On the rear for the XJ one it mounts to the 2 factory locations with the flat plate and 4 bolts on each side and then there's a "carriage bolt strip" through welded(~3/16") that goes inside the framerail. Is it the same/similar on the MJ mounts?

The MJ mounts are just a frame plate that goes on the outside of the frame maybe 14-16" with 4 bolts holes, and it marries to the bumper with 2 bolts. I am thinking mine wallowed out the 2 holes on one side, or streched the bolts or something. The cherokee attachment is a better design from the factory IMO and even better with the frame inserts. I never once had an issue yanking out vehicles with my XJ. I wish i had a welder, i would just make my own and sandwich the MJ frame rail.

Yeah quite different. Still seems like it shouldn't have bent up, but I guess with a bit of horizontal force something twisted. Sandwich shouldn't be that hard to add.
Went out for a little cruise. Had temps in the 80s, so tried to get it to overheat but couldnt, just stuck at 200 to 205....napa radiator and open cooling system worked great.
Apparently my Cav-Fab crossmember and links arrived. I will pick them up friday. Who knows when the tie in brackets will arrive. We ran in to some issues installing it on another comanche. The fuel/brake lines are routed differently on XJ's vs MJ's, and they are literally right in the way of where the 3rd link comes down from the crossmember, so we are trying to see if we can bend those lines enough to get them out of the way and secure them to the cab floor enough to prevent contact during articulation. additionally, there is some body bracing that has to be clearanced, and a stock crossmember mount that has to be removed. i am starting to regret going this route.
I didnt read far enough back to verify this, but are you going the 4 link route (but at the same time I only see 1 front bushing insert which points toward a 3 link). Thats the route I am planning on going so I hope you are doing the same so I can follow for results! Cant say I have seen anyone else put on a Cavfab 4 link.
