Cool Project: "Maya" the super jeep

Well its time, im officially starting my build! This build has been in the works since sept of 2010. Im 19 and working a full time job so this will be mostly a weekend project. luckily i ride into work with my dad so i dont have to drive the jeep daily. The main reason im doing such an intense build (going from auto to standard) is to prove to my parents that i have the skill and the will to complete large tasks on my own. Im gunna be asking alot of questions on here for the next month or so while im building it. Im going to be updating it the build thread every day i work on this build.

The donor jeep: '96 XJ 181,xxx
Bessy I6 4.0 4X4
D30HP front
C8.25 rear
AX-15 5spd
NP231
3in RC full pack lift

The Project jeep: '96 XJ classic 165,xxx
Maya I6 4.0 2X4
Locked C8.25 rear
AW4 auto

The Finished Jeep: '96 XJ classic
Maya I6 4.0HO 4X4
D30HP front end
Locked C8.25 rear
AX-15 5spd
NP231 t case
31x10.50x15 Trail Cutter RT
3in RC full pack, maybe adding 1in bb with 4.5in shocks

Started tearing down the donor jeep, got the D30 out of it, talk about a mess! This jeep has been sitting since i broke it in sept of '10. the most useful tool ive found thus far in my dads dewalt angle grinder with a zip wheel. had to cut the bolts on the upper control arms to get them out, ended up cutting the lower control arms in half to get the axle out from under the jeep. Got the rear end 50% of the way out, got everything disconected just gotta get the front spring bolts on each side, probably gunna have to borrow a friends torch to cut them out. Ill be putting up picks on the first days progress shortly!
