Well I got the axle in on Monday night. It's taken some getting used to driving locked, but I'm excited to take it out and see what it can do now.

I have an issue though... when I started driving it, it honestly sounded like my old axle, grindy and I could feel it in the floor. Much to my dismay I thought I had just bought another axle that had the exact same problem as my old one. But when I inspected the axle, there is no wear marks or anything, and all looks good. There was t even metal on the magnet. So now I have no clue what's going on. As I drove it more, it only got worse, and then I started to think maybe it isn't the axle. As I did some research, I really believe I have a u joint in the rear DS that is about to fail. I feel a clunking feeling in the floor and can hear it pretty well, and it sounds more like its comig from the middle of my jeep, rather then the rear. Also it has been squeaking for a long time (which I just thought was my busted pinion seal on my old axle). So in my opinion I have all the symptoms of an "about to explode" u joint, but there is no play in the shaft!! Is that possible? I just climbed under my jeep with it in park and tried to wiggle it back and forth and no play. Can I have a really bad u joint but have no shaft play?

Huge relief, I dropped the rear DS and drove it in 4WD, and had no issues at all... all the vibrations and noises were gone. Turns out the cup and ball was all dried up. I'm off to the junk yard to grab a new drive shaft.

Nice Rig! I was stunned when I saw the Roburrito's sticker. I live in York also, and LOVE Roburrito's. Where are you located? I haven't read through your thread yet but I'm getting there.

Well everything is back to normal with the jeep, and he will be accompanying me back up to college so I can beat him up again.
