Hi all, just bought my xj today, so i figured id start my thread now.

A little bit about it:
87 xj chief
91 6cyl ho swapped in
Aisin 5speed
Stock axles and diffs
3 inch lift, i saw spacers, so not too sure
Ultra 15 x 10.50 soft 8 style rims, practically bald 31 wildcats
No stereo
And frankly, beat up haha.

Its very sloppy, and needs lots of work, any ideas?

Finally brought it home, got to really feel how its performing (which was shockingly good lol); however, i have my work cut out for me.

In the next month or so:
An actual muffler, even though it sounds AMAZING without one
Tires, most likely 33s
2 more inches of lift, maybe 3
A SERIOUS interior cleaning XD
Most of the small things fixed
Hydraulic supports for the hatch
Fixin leaks (oil, coolant, etc)
Rear bumper
And finally, lights

ill most likely put up more pictures tomorrow.

Lol thats actually what i wanted....well, kinda. For a 17 year old, iroks are sorta out of the question unless by God's grace i find them on cl for cheap.

Well, as of today, Krawlin' Bull is parked. I changed a couple fuses this morning, started it up, and blew quite a few more fuses about 30 seconds out of my driveway. Shockingly, it was still running, so i drove it back and woke up dad lol. I got home after school and immediately got to work, pulling all the fuses out, and putting new ones in; however, i found out that the old man finally got under the hood of "that dang jeep you just bought" and told me i needed the essentials taken care of before it leaves the garage. So, tomorrow, both the auto parts store and the wrecking yard are gonna have a nice hefty chunk of my paycheck :-/ oh well, its more than worth it

Wow! Two months have passed without me posting anything, guess when u work, you get too focused

So far, in the last few months, Bull has gotten a serious cleaning. I steam-cleaned the hell out of it like 4 times, then broke out the turtle wax shampoo, and shockingly, its close to the original tan-gold color. And the smell, the horror! Lol well, it smelled like a jeep that sat for a long time with leaks...

Speaking of leaks, i found 'em. The outer lip of the sunroof gasket was leaking like an old dogs bladder, so i siliconed it. Magically, dry seats the next day

On to the engine. This thing was in okay shape, but needed a tuneup horribly. An oil change, coolant flush, thermostat change, and half a bottle of purple power later, i had a happy, 89 renix motor roaring back at me. So much for a high-output swap, but oh well.

It also got itself a glasspack; me and my buddy put on a 28" thrush brand, and custom made tailpipe that sounds beefy, yet quieter in the cab.

Its also powering 2 tens in a bandpass box that flex its tin can roof like a boss haha.

In about 10 minutes or so, ill have some of the crappy phone pics up for all to see.

Give it a full tune up, make sure everything is in order mechanically, also clean that interior and/or give it new carpet

Only thing i have left to do is lube the chassis, drivetrain etc. The interior is spotless now.

run some seafoam through the crank case. clean the throttle body and the tubes coming out of the valve cover and going to the air box. also might have to take off the valve cover to clean around the baffles.
