Ok so today I got a chance to do some more work on my bumper. Im really liking the way it is looking although it is gonna be heavy. Def. realized better ways to do it since I started. Isnt that how it always go's.
So I started on the end caps today. Im just gonna post all the pics in order. No need to really explain them. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-57-29_723.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-03-26_740.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-03-36_106.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-22-51_623.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-52-44_159.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-53-17_104.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...2-53-35_33.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-29-19_710.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-29-32_245.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-57-00_800.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...-57-20_523.jpg And this is where I left off. The pass. side is almost done just need to cap the end and the drivers side needs to be capped and the welds cleaned up. So it is almost done. I need to pick up some eighth inch plate to put on the top and burn the whole thing together, some paint and get the winch working. Oh I also have a question. I was gonna run two batterys to help with the load from the winch and offroad lights im gonna put on it. I can just hook the two batterys in parallel if they are the exact same battery correct? I seen somewhere that they put some kinda switch in it but they were different batterys. So thanks everyone and I hope you like it. |
Ok so I pretty much got the bumper finished. Gotta get some plate to box the top in and shape the brackets for the shackels.

Not to get off topic but I'm loving the setup on the j-body. Glad to see someone running a air/water intercooler. I'm doing a build on my cobalt and planned for air/water. Could you pm me some pics of your setup and the dimensions of that intercooler.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Well tomorrow I am hoping to finish up the bumper. I finally got some plate to box it in and some cheap offroad lights to mount on it. Hopefully the winch still works gotta test that still and paint it up.
then next on the list is a rear bumper, roof rack and sliders. Not really in any particular order just which ever one I feel like making. And thanks again everyone. |
Alright so here are a few more pics of the bumper. Its pretty much done just gotta wait for the paint to dry.

This is one of the best bumpers I've seen. I love the corner wraps and the recovery points...oh yea, herculiner paint job has me rethinking I might have to go that way. Keep us informed of the wear. Please continue to post pictures...this is a great thread for us non welders :-)
