Wrong on both accounts bud, check out iron rock offroad, zone offroad, Rubicon express or rustys for some higher quality yet reasonably priced lifts. Rough country has really good marketing that's about it.

it actually has a Rusty's sticker on it, and i think that is the brand the lift kit is too lol

I'm also going to remove the damn stickers, which thanks again guys for the tips on that, and possibly start ordering some steel for it.

Why did you get oil so thick? That's real thick oil for the 4.0

**** yes it is, 10W-30 or 5W-30. I run 10W-30 from mid spring to mid fall. 5W-30 from mid fall to mid spring.

my dad runs 20w-50 in his Jeep and I run it in my Chevy and I had it in my Dakota, I just haven't had any issues since using 20w-50 in any of my motors

Idk man. Thicker oil means more heat, and that's not a good thing haha. I woukd really go with the factory recommended 10w30. I assume that's what the jeep has had most of its life.
just curious, why would you guys choose that oil?

Hes been doing mechanics since like 1975 and he started using 20w-50 in his trucks, especially his scouts and jeeps and never went back, I have absolutely no clue what it has had in it. I just hope it isn't 10w-40 cause according to him that oil is 👎, I just don't know how big a difference it is going to be cause all 4 of his Cherokees run 20w-50 and they run really really good, especially his 96 wheelie pulling 2 door. But I could see what happens going from 10w-30 and run it for a couple of thousand miles and then change it out for 20w-50

Ok interesting. Never seen anyone here run that weight. Or recomended haha. 20w50 is like honey though haha I just can't see it being good for the 4.0

i think it's cause it's so thick that it gives a good layer of residual oil for start up and that initial warm up cycle. Or that's what I would imagine lol,

Of course run your preferred. I'm just a bit skeptical haha.

I found the thread that curry found that post from
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/20...-run-ok-79119/

Posters there are giving saying it could be ok, but they don't run it haha. Good thread though.
