Hey! Guess what!! .......still no "build" to add this thread .Haven't cut the fenders or installed the hood vents, haven't put on the hooks or skid plate. Haven't even put the window crank on.
But....I'm still hoarding parts, because some day I might get an hour or two all to myself!
Here's my latest acquisition...for "some day"....

Hey! I did something today! Got my front tow hooks put on, took the air dam thing off, and trimmed the bottom of the fender flare to match the line!

As I was finishing it started to get cloudy and I heard thunder, expecting a big storm. So I replaced my screwed up window strip on both front doors, and replaced the window crank while I was at it!

Finally had a couple minutes to myself, decided to do my rear brakes. They actually looked pretty meaty, but they were making a grinding noise and since I already bought the shoes and hardware I figured "screw it". What's 29B mean? Searched and didnt find any info.

So...y'all know that locker that I got two months ago?
No, haven't upgraded the axles yet. Guess I'm going to have to hurry on that. Need to try it out soon too.

I took him to some smooth dirt roads a couple weeks ago, the XJ is officially the first vehicle he ever drove. Consider the seed planted!

Since I've had radiator hoses and a new T-stat sitting on my bench for a few months now, I figured it was about time to slap them on Jeep. Apparently Jeep had grown attached to its current T-stat and wasn't about to give up easily. I broke out the cut-off wheel, hilarity ensued.
Now I have to hit the parts store first thing in the AM, grab a couple bolts and a water pump gasket. After that I should be good to go...till the next chapter: transmission filter and gasket.

More boring stuff to add. Didn't do anything fun, but did replace T-stat, and housing (see above pic), radiator hoses, water pump gasket, fluid in rear diff, snapped some small vacum hose (mental note, fix it), adjusted rear brakes, and still have a small drip from the T-stat housing (yay leaks!). And noticed my engine mounts are shot.
Here's a pic of he rear diff, mostly because it's the only pic I took, and people like pics!

Today I took the housing back off due to the drip, and reinstalled with a new gasket, and had a drip. Took back off, reinstalled with another new gasket and blue RTV, and had a drip. Took back off, stared at it in anger, and noticed the seating area looked a little off. Holding against a straight-edge confirmed it was not perfectly straight.
Went back to the store and exchanged for one that appeared straight, installed it and am letting it sit overnight while I have an old priest and a young priest say a blessing for it.
The bright side, I'm now fully knowledgable on how to remove the air box, belt, T-stat, and everything related within 5 minutes!!
Also bought some LCAs from a member here, hopefully have install pics within a couple weeks.

Thanks. Just doing what I can with what I've got. The locker acts very well behaved in 2wd. I get some very faint clicking when making a sharp right turn, other than that it's non-existent. When I first installed it, it unloaded pretty loud when I backed out of the garage. I've only tested it on a straight dirt road so far, seemed ok. Haven't really tried it out yet.
