I bought this jeep last summer, a 2000 xj 4.0 with 120k miles for 3500$. Going to college now and plan to maintain it and possibly build more if I can (if my budget allows). Well anyways.. here is the first few days!

-I then put in new bulbs in the stock fog assembly.
-I had the calipers freeze on me after changing the pads so I went back and changed everything (rotors, calipers, etc). -Changed the thermostat and the water pump -changed the diff fluid -fluid and changed the trans fluid and had an issue with the pan so I had to temporarily rtv it (works well). -Then changed the t-case fluid. |

The next morning I started it up and it sounded like a lawnmower. Changed the coil pack and plugs. Which is what it was. I was at the junkyard and found steel oil cap with a nice seal so I went ahead and put that on.

Due to the chaotic install, I didn't have that many pictures, but everything was pretty basic. I Pb blasted ALL the bolts for 2 weeks in advance. This came in handy with the leaf springs as they came out with the quickness!
to get the control arms in we had to ratchet strap the axle forward a tad, but nothing too major here, really needs at least two people, though. An SYE is in the process of coming but for the time being, we did a t-case drop..BEWARE two of the bolts are studs were tough to get off. The rear diff was simple, but a floor jack is required as it is the only was to fit the new leaf packs The rear shock bolts broke (image that), and I welded them on temporarily and then 2 days later. got the rough country product that corrected the issue (this is very simple and helpful!). |

My rear leaf before was sagging pretty bad, with the 31's I could barely fit my finger in there! I gained more in the back for sure.

That is it for now. Till I get more pictures... and soon 33's.
