I drove the Jeep around a lot today, and the new lift feels real nice. I brought it up to 65 on the highway, and no death wobble! I haven't even gotten an alignment yet. I have to say that so far I'm happy with the parts I chose. I'm glad I pieced it together as opposed to buying a prefab kit. Rusty's coils and leafs feel really nice on the road, not too stiff at all. Monday I'm getting the sway bar dicos and hood vents installed, and then I'm getting an alignment. Also I'm adding another hanger and rubber isolator to the exhaust to keep it from rattling. More pics to come. :D

Why would you put the money to regear to 4.10 on 31s? It's not worth it to me, rather put the money somewhere else. I've been on 31s for two years now and do a lot of highway driving, manage around 19-22mpg on the highway 16 city.

I do the same trails you plan on and go to school 300 miles away over the hilly PA terrain, I make the trip home 8 times a year and always have a quarter tank to spare. I wouldn't put all that money in to regearing, if you do, wait until you go up to 33s. Yes it sucks sometimes trying to go 65 over big hills but around town and 90% on the highway I love it.

Looks really nice. Just a warning thought, those boots on your shocks are known for collecting mud/debris so many people, I including recommend not using them at all. I had one on my steering stabilizer and after three years i took it out and the inside had water in all the ribs and dirt. But that might not be an issue for you.

I've heard that about the shock boots too. That is one reason I didn't put clamps or zip ties on them, so the water could drain easier. If it does become a problem, I'll just cut them off, no big deal.

So far, here's a list of everything that has been fixed/upgraded since I bought it.
New radiator, thermostat, hoses, and hardware New brakes all the way around Oil change, air filter New 3 inch lift with new leaf packs, coils, shocks, upper and lower control arms, adjustable track bar, and steering stabilizer Future plans Hood vents (need to be installed) JKS sway bar discos (need to be installed) TC and gas tank skid KC lights |
Well, it looks like I just have enough money to get an alignment tomorrow. The hood vents and JKS sway bar discos will have to wait to be installed until I can save up some more money. Seasonal employment gets tough around this time of the year. Time to look for a more steady job, lol.
