Project Gipsy Danger
SO I decided to post a build thread for my ZJ. Right now, I'm in Stage one on my build which is getting it road worthy and legal. Current items on my punch list are: -Replace blown brake line -Replace Exhaust -fix condensation issue in driver's side headlight -replace DS front U-joint so decent little punch list, following by mods and bring this vehicle to a trail ready rig. So stay tuned :) |
May want to have this moved...

So finally weather has broke enough to get some work done (yay!!!) I got home tonday, and decided to take the headlight out so I can reseal the lens and stop water getting inside of it ... didn't realize what was involved.... like seriousy I had to remove the bumper cover??
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...4de7ad4c33.jpg So my headache continues when I try to remove the the Driver's side headlight capsule from the assembly ... after 30 minutes I gave up and this happened much to the dismay of my roommate... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...cd2a6e4beb.jpg I have it in the house so I can dry out the light, and repair it... and after a short investigation, found the lens is separating from the headlight on the top section... so I'm going to seal it with Aquarium sealant until I get the new capsules in a little bit. As of now, this is is how it sits in the driveway... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...23da158855.jpg Tomorrow plan is to replace the bad brake line, seal the headlight/replace the bulb, and try to rig up the exhaust to stop it leaking, so I can get it through state inspection, I have a cat back ordered, however its been on backorder for two weeks and I just cancelled it. So I'm reordering from a different vendor, but as I say I need to get this one on the road ASAP as I need a vehicle.. |
The ZJ headlights just pull out and push in, there are 3 clips that hold it in to the header panel as well as the connector for the bulb, no need to remove the header panel . . nice jeep though! it looks clean! good luck on the build
