Project Frankenstein
So I will be picking up my new Jeep Sunday, I have decided to call it Frankenstein cause it fits the feel of it. Now I will be doing some modifications to it right off the bat. The info about it is as follows: 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic with 217,000 miles on it, has the 4.0L withe automatic 4 speed with overdrive (?), 242 SYE transfer case with Dana 30s front and rear with 3:55 gears. The body is extremely clean one spot of rust on the entire thing, floors are brand new looking. Now what I'm thinking about doing is making it so that it can help light up a trail for multiple jeeps somewhat like a support Jeep (?) Therefore I'll be installing multiple lights on different sides to light up the surrounding area. So yeah that's the plan for Frankenstein Oh and the Jeep has a 2" lift kit and already has LED headlights and aftermarket fog lights
|
I'm thinking putting a pair of fog lights on the liftgate, one on the right and left of the roof (somehow)
|
|
Also any suggestions or possible ideas please feel free to post it (obviously)

Here's what I have available for me to use currently for lights:
2x caged super 4x4 off road lights with like cheapa** mounts. 25amp each 2x bugeye style utility lights (the kind on snow plows) which should be really helpful on the sides! 25amps eahc? 1x procomp(?) Rectangular caged off road light with good mounts. 20amps 3x mini LED battery powered spotlights with magnetic bases (hold very good) |
So update so far to getting everything set to go on Frankenstein going to be taking out the CB radio out of my truck hopefully the wiring harness will come out with it and the mounting bracket as well, have my recovery gear all set to go and the first aid kits as well.

Well, I'd say if you're going to put lights in the tailgate then make sure you use a pair of flushmounts LED's It can be done, but are you brave enough to cut into your tailgate?

I couldn't get the damn things out! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...e6dbc71345.jpg Gonna need a bracket identical to this one https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...6cb11b9794.jpg Everything for the CB haven't messed with it so the range stays at 17 miles Everything is out of my truck and all set to get put in the jeep! |

Just drill the rivets out and that bracket will come right off.

Update on the light situation. I have lost one of the magnetic lights on a strip of road in the middle of a Reservoir so that sucks. Also the super 4x4 lights out of the two only one has an actual base so gotta figure that one out, haven't been able to locate the KC lights Cherokee roof bracket that I had put aside for me yet however I did find the remaining lights I had lost from 2 or 3 years ago so that was nice! As for everything else I think I'll look for a low temp thermostat if they have one for 140°/160° open temp
|
Why are you looking for a low temp t-stat? I would steer clear of that unless you want it to constantly run rich and your fuel economy to take a severe hit.

Drilled out the little holder things so now everything that is mine is out of the truck
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...40c203db40.jpg It's all empty now A bit sad to see the truck going but the (hopefully) new owner is going to keep it garaged and only use it to tow his drift car to the track. |
