so u just weld the tubing to the body pretty much?? any suppors or any thing??

bmikes 08-29-2012 10:35 AM

Im goin to get unibody supports and then make elbows that go from the stiffeners to where the tubes are, and.then sandwich the unibody with plates. my main focus right now is to get.it all sealed up and waterproof though, they say its supposed to rain soon and so i don't really want it to ruin my project ya know? but ya, i definitely plan on tying it into the unibody frame

bmikes 08-30-2012 10:38 AM

I was kinda puzzled on how I was goin.to attach my bottom piece of sheet metal that is the back of my bed to th.cross.bar on my roll cage. But after I took a step away from it for a couple hours I came back and decided to just.do little welds spaced out! And then last.night I.got part of the roof.folded down too!

The app isnt working right now but I'll upload some pics in a little bit!

Each one of them three triangles will have a plexi glass window in it :) and I'm.using a marine cauking type stuff to seal it. Ill try that and if it don't work ill just try something else!

Does anybody have any suggestions on the type of bedliner I should use in the back??

wiggles 08-31-2012 02:39 PM

You should use a soft window that you can snap in like a Stanford soft top window
And use rustoleum bed coat, its great stuff!

I was thinking about trying to make a snap in window type thing, but I don't know how I would make that waterproof :/ but if I don't like these, I can always bust em out and make something new! and cool thanks for the advice on the bed liner! Ill get some tomorrow and try it! do you know what store carries it?

wiggles 08-31-2012 02:48 PM

Did a little cut and fold along the rear roof line :)

So I decided I didn't like that; and that I could do better; so today I made a piece to fit up in that corner and trimmed the folded pieces to make the.bend down and overlay about .250"
