Project "FalkenXJ"
2 Attachment(s)
Picked up this XJ for a pretty good deal. Very clean interior and exterior and I plan on trying to keeping it that way.
Its a 2000 Jeep cherokee 4x4 with Dana 30 front and Chrysler 8.25 in the rear. Automatic with a 231 transfer case. Already had to replace the waterpump and put a new Felpro valve cover gasket in. Installed a optima red top battery as well as E3 diamond fire spark plugs. Installed a drop in K&N air filter as well with the HP-2004 oil filter. My lift of choice is:Rock Krawler 4.5" X Factor. http://www.rockkrawler.com/ProductDe...de=RKXJ45XF-LA I already got 5 33x12.50x15 Falken Wildpeaks I will be running. Both front and rear bumpers are made just have to install them on the Jeep. Trimming the fenders obviously and will throw some Protekto trim on the fronts. Stay tuned for more updates on the build and subscribe of course!:thumbup1: |

I went ahead and cut up the front fenders pretty good to clear the larger tires.
Attachment 242429 Attachment 242430 Attachment 242432 Attachment 242431 Started a little on the back while I was doing the "Cut N Fold". Overall it all turned out great! While that was all done I put on a Rubicon Express Steering stabilizer. Attachment 242433 |

I got the front bumper installed and also wired the 20" LED light bar. Pretty simple installation. The only mod I had to do was relocate the Vacuum canister.
Attachment 242434 I had to do the "Cut N Fold" in the rear so the bumper would fit. Overall the back bumper is really beefy, it also hold up to a 35" tire but for now its a 33" tire as pictured. It took a while to get the back bumper on because of trimming to make it fit. Attachment 242451 Attachment 242452 Attachment 242454 Attachment 242438 I still need to finish up the rear fenders and get the lip painted. I also still need to wire the license plate light |
Where'd you find that trim? And are you lifting it?

Ordered some Ruffstuff Plates. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/XJRAIL.html
While I was waiting for that, I worked more in the interior. All 4 Autometer gauges now work and also hooked up the switch panel for future items. The first switch is for the 20" led light bar. Attachment 243268 Attachment 243269 Attachment 243270 Attachment 243271 |
Finished the jeep a few months ago. Added currie steering, advanced adapter sye, jcr rear gas skid, vhf race radio, fan switch, rear main seal. Finished the rock krawler 3 link. I got a dana 44 ready to go in. Im also going to have rear shock towers made for the rear rock krawler coil conversion. I plan on going to 35"s soon.c

where did you get the light panel at? Like the idea of using the ash tray since I don't smoke.

From the seller: Prime4x4 they also offer many different options for panels. |

I plan on buying this shock tower within the weeks. This will be great for the rear coil conversion so I can run King Coilovers. |
PM sent! ;)

I got a few more brackets to weld onto the Dana 44, then get a shock tower so I can do the axle swap. Ill take some pics of the axle in the next few days.
|
How much of that trim did you have left after doing the fronts? Think a 30' kit would be enough to do all 4?
