Project Displacment
I have a 99 xj which I have already out 4.5" of zone lift on a BDS adjustable Track bar and 31 10.50 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I recently picked up a 99 long block with a rod knock off craigslist for $50. Being the hot rodder i am I made the decision to build a stroker motor to put in my jeep when my current motor expires ( im at 182,xxx so i only have 50,000 or 60,000 miles). Do to the fact that I am not a super duper engine builder by any means anyone who has some know how on this subject please chime in.

Over the past 2 days my brother and i have been tearing down the motor to the block in order to clean it up and send it to the machine shop. This part is going fast because it is free i am certian we will slow down once i have to start dishing out money. I am hoping to keep the budget about $1500 which is about the same as a stock rebuild.
This is how the motor came home all snug next to my full size spare btw these things are pretty heavy

parts in the garage
so we have pulled the motor apart and labeled and bagged everything from the motor. I have some fun pics of the block taken all apart and hopefully between x-mas and new years the motor will go into the machine shop to get hot tubbed and bored .030" over and decked .035".

s'more random pics
a few more pics of the old engine parts, its pretty crazy how gummed up the interior of the motor was. The motor had a knock in it which we found from the broken piston skirt. Good thing the bore should take care of any damage done by the piston.

So I have decided to wait till after xmas to order pistons due to the fact that with my luck they will get lost in the chaos of xmas shipping. I plan on getting the pistons and block to the machine shop by the new year. I have decided to go with keith black .030 over pistons and will have the block decked .035 if neone was wondering. http://www.kb-silvolite.com/silv-o-l...tails&S_id=571
