Default Project Desert XJ

Hey so this is my first vehicle that I have owned. A 1992 Cherokee Laredo. After owning and maintaining it for the past two years, I decided to finally build it up to a capable weekend wheeler and chase vehicle for the off-road races here in the desert. I'm in college so it might be awhile in between updates. This is how it sits now.Project Desert XJ-img_20121225_154530.jpg I just bought Rubicon Express 5.5" coils Project Desert XJ-img_20130319_121634.jpgand waiting on my 4.5" leafs to come in. It's been sitting for the past week due to the NSS going out, but tonight I'm going to pull one out of a friends old XJ. Project Desert XJ-img_20130318_162351.jpg

Fixed my NSS. I bought one out of an XJ that was being parted out but I opened it up and it was all broken up. So I just ended up cleaning mine out and now it works fine. The next step now is replacing the starter that has been filled up with oil due to the motor leaking oil super bad. Sorry for no pics of the NSS, been busy with school, work, and prepping the four-seater for the desert race this weekend. Project Desert XJ-1364888840595.jpgWe did take the Jeep out last night to chase the for the off-road car and it has never been more apparent to me how bad my shocks and leafs are! Wish I would have taken some pictures of the Jeep last night, I only have one from the off-road car. But this is how she sits right now.Project Desert XJ-dsc00044.jpg Ill post some pics of the broken NSS and the Jeep Chasing this weekend.

Sorry I havent been very faithful to this build thread, for the past month I've been moving my stuff from California to Utah for school. Of course before I left town I had to do something bad***. So I jumped my Jeep....bad idea.

I smashed the **** out of my transmission cooling line, but I picked one of those up in a junkyard for 25$. So now I've been in Utah for a few days and I just noticed that I've got two broken leafs on my driver side rear. So it looks like after memorial day weekend I'll have to find a salvage yard up here that'll sell me one.

Went to the salvage yard today and they want 120$ per leaf set. So I figured why do that when I can just buy some RE 4.5 leafs for 175 a piece. I guess for the next month I'll be rolling around town with the drivers side a little lower than the passenger side haha

Haha seemed like a fun thing to do at the time! But with moving to a new state the next day and it being my DD....probably wasn't the best idea

On another note, with plans on running 5.5 LA lift with 35s I know I need to upgrade from the old trusted D35. So I'm hoping to find a D44 up here in Utah or an 8.8.
