Project Desert Fox
So I've owned my 90 2 Dr loredo for about a year and a half. I bought her from a careless PO. Although he's still a good guy in my book. We were stationed together while I was in Bahrain. Picked her up for 2k. Long story short, now that she runs little a kitten, thanks to yours truly, I've wanted to begin a little refab. I've had a desert theme in my head for a while but have gladly run into some rust problems which have indubitably helped commence the project. As far as paint scheme goes, I'm planning to start w just a plain desert sand color and will later add camo patterns similar to a ww2 messerchmitd fighter plane from the luftwaffe. I just loved painting those German planes as scale models growing up and loved luft paint schemes.
Anyways. About the rust. I was driving one day when the roof rack began to shake. The fasteners where the rack tracks where bolted were rusted thru. So this is where I've kicked off the resto. I've just about have the interior gutted, and have welded replacement pieces in place for the tracks and will repaint the roof for starters. The interior will swap from rust red to a tan color. I've just finished the Headliner and will clean and paint the Interior panels tomorrow. Enough talk. Post below will have the highlights. Enjoy and please comment.

If you may have noticed, my door frame was rocked from a heavy wind which blew it open too hard causing damage to the fender and hinge. How do I fix that? I mean, do I take the door off and pry back the hinge from frame?

If anyone was wondering, 3 coats of Krylon primer, 2-3 coats of Krylon camo spray, and a coat + of Krylon Clearcoat. I didn't clear the roof, but will later. The result of the hood looks amazing in person

So these recent photos are but few. I pulled 20 yo oak 2x8" , 2x4" and x6" (actual) planks from a semi utility trailer. The top surface caught my heart. $20 craigslist belt sander and a fairly priced craftsman 12" Band saw, $15 1/2" band blade, and about a bill for the rest of the hardware to make a screwless, wood planked cargo section. Stay posted.

Ole timey wood. (test fit)
Cleaning up old damp spots and a hole.
One of the 2 x 8's. Couldn't fit in bandsaw so these will get used elsewhere.
2 x 6 shrunken to 1 x 6 decking material. Gorgeous coloring.
