Bought a 2001 XJ limited while I was stationed in japan about 2 years ago. It sat in storage for about a year until I got to my next duty station in NorCAl. I drove it cross country from Massatwo****s and had no problems. Before I left I changed all fluids checked the belt , changed my first front axle U-joint thanks to a youtube video which is where i get most of my info (and this site) because I'm pretty new to car maintenance but pretty good at breaking sh**.

The rims are Pro Comp Wheel Series 152 Streetlocks

Upgraded the wiring harness and put in Rampage Headlights.
Tremendous improvement in headlight efficiency. highly recommended
Also have the ZJ tie rod just sitting in the backseat waiting for some love.
Waiting for a long weekend just in case i run into problems I dont want to have to ask for a ride to work.

Bed lined the sides of it and the wheel wells.
Want to do a cut and fold on the real quarter panels cuz I found some really bad rot on one side when I took the Rear bumper caps off.
Any ideas are welcome. I've never welded but I work in a sheet metal shop so
I was thinking about cutting all the rot out and fabricating a piece to seal up the area and maybe rivet it on or learn how to weld

:help: Having some issues with when I turn right I hear a click.
Looked under and found out my Tie rod end rubs on the bottom of my sway bar quick disconnect. Any advice besides me removing the front sway bar ? Will upload a pic soon

It looks to me like you need to loosen the drag link sleeve and try twisting the joints at the pitman arm and the knuckle to be perpendicular. From the pic, it looks like the stabilizer it twisted forward, so by doing this, I'd think it would force it away from the bracket. / / / / Hope that makes sense.
If they are still rocking around at the knuckles, try installing the CURE from RuffStuff. I just did this and it makes a HUGE difference in steering. check them out and search it for your self, but I'm totally convinced this thing is legit...

PS: I really like that look.

Just a thought, you may also consider a dropped pitman arm on your steering box, and also a drop bracket for your track bar.
The angles in your pic seem pretty steep.

Other than that, it looks awesome.
Looking forward to some wheeling pics.

There is a drop pitman arm on it and i have an adjustable track bar i need to center the axle this weekend . Also im going to try to throw the new zj tie rod on it

Ifish 08-03-2016 01:37 AM

I will most likely look at getting a drop bracket for the track bar sometime soon

Ifish 08-03-2016 11:48 PM

Actually an adjustable track bar shouldnt need a drop bracket should it?
