Default project college budget

Hello all, my first introduction. I'm Tyler. 19 years old live in Trenton Ohio, close to Hamilton and Middletown. But anyways I recently scored a 92 Cherokee Laredo for the price of.. well... free? I fixed the exhaust on a car my grandpa bought and my payment was my jeep! Pretty good deal, 4.0 4 door 4x4 NP231 30 front and 35 rear. Been reading on here and have learned allot! I also accumulated a big list of wants that include but are not limited to...
-Pull the carpet and bedline floors.
-fix the oil leaks, mainly the rear main and valve cover among others. This XJ's very leaky. hoping to do rear main while the transfer case is out
-Re do the headliner.
-add some sound bars.
-Rebuild 231 with SYE
-4.5 inch lift with leafs packs
-33's on soft 8's or smiler and some body trimming
-desert tan or army green paint, I can't decide yet. (desert tan would match the interior)
-removable doors.
-home made sliders to replace rusted out rockers.
-home built front winch bumber
-winch
- home built rear bumbers
-home built roof rack. (Conduit?)
-some lights, maybe 4 in the front, 2 in the rear. Wheel well lights would be great, but that's far down on the list.
-Ac compressor converted to air compressor.
- Ect.,ect.,ect.

Much much more but you get the just of it, haha. I want to be able to drive the jeep on the road, but i want it to be as capable as possible offroad at the same time. Seeing as I don't HAVE to drive it daily, but don't have anything to tow it with either. I'll be on here looking for help and ideas often i'm sure, It's a good place to find them! Any suggestions, advice, tips and tricks are welcome and much appreciated! I'm going to school for cars but this is my first offroad rig as well as my first jeep. But in the mean time of building I'll be driving the ol' XJ through the winter and I'm sure I'll get stuck a few more times while off roading stock but its just so fun, It's worth it. haha.

So far I have replaced the entire braking system in a series of unfortunate events. Also a left tail light due to a light wheeling accident in a spot in haspin that I had no business being in, also have some cracked fiberglass due to the same event Other than that it's a pretty clean XJ, typical paint fade and some limb scratches from me, rusted rockers witch will be cut out. Along with some rust behind the rear tires, which will be cut and folded up. One spot of rust on the driver door, i'll fix that when I paint it.

Well, thats my story, this far its been fun, and something to spend my money on. the story will continue to keep everyone entertained as money allows. Oh yea, I almost forgot.. Pictures!.... Just let me figure out how to add pictures....

I figured it out! I Don't have many good pictures, I'll work on getting some. Around here no one gets out a camera unless you "Flex it out" So I got some bone stock poser "flex" shots oh we'll they'll be good to compare to in a few years
This is my best picture of it, just a nice side view

now some poser shots,
Rear tire tucked up pretty good, and my buddy in the background

Little baby flex, got my use out of that strap while I was out too.

Now for some pictures of being stuck
Hole was little to deep, got some water in the floor on that one

lesson learned on my haspin trip, be aware of what is on the other side of the hill

same spot, you can see my broken tail light from earlier that day

Sorry for the cell phone pics. But like I said, I'll work on getting some GOOD pictures. Thanks for looking to anyone that is interested!

Just found this picture, not to do with my jeep but for everyone to laugh on, I said it was my first jeep, not my first Chrysler

Big ol' one wheel wonder!
Haha, happy offroading, and internet browsing!

Sounds like a good build! That picture with your buddy in it must be flipped cause it looks like your jeep is right hand drive! I did a few double takes. It must be flipped? The rest of your pics look fine.

Since my last post I lost my job, and decided I wasn't much on the college thing so no more of that either. Good news is I found a job today and start tomorrow, tagged the jeep today. It's now my everyday driver. I need some advice, the right brake light has some issues. When the lights are off the brake lights work fine, but with the lights on the right light goes out completely when you hit the brakes. Taillight goes out and the brake light doesn't come on, any suggestions? All help appreciated, thanks in advance! Hopefully this build takes off here soon.

Well, I've been doing good, keeping the jeep on the road.. I found a little creek with a hill on the other side that i had went through once before. So I pulled off the road put it in 4 and started across the creek. I realized it was up a little higher than last time once the water came over my hood. Nothing a little more throttle didn't pull me out of though. We made it back onto the road fine.

But today on the other hand, when I was at a buddy's house and decided to try a "little hill with a few branches" the result was a broken right rear window A little time with a razor blade, straight edge, plexiglass and help from a more experienced jeeper I have a new rear window! so today wasn't so successful, but at least I semi-fixed what I broke. I didn't even make it up the hill, guess its time for some tires!

Hopefully I have a little more ground clearance here soon, waiting on a check from my new job, and a tax return
Thanks for reading!

well howdy yall! I haven't been on here in awhile and figured i'd add some pictures. also as usual I got some bad news too... You see i went out and took me a bunch of pictures with my new camera! Bad thing is... later on that night i went out drifting down a dirt road, (Not my best decision) And hit a tree a little bit Once I upload my good looking pictures, I'll upload my bad ones!
Not as bad as it could have been, but i'm also unhappy to report the jeep still sits at stock height
