Default Project "Blue Rain" The Ktmracer build

Blue Rain is simply an inside joke, my jeep is not blue, nor has it ever been blue. Nor has it ever been rain.

Pic of it stock and pic of it built (2 months apart)

Here are the current specs:

96 cherokee classic
4.0
aw4 w
np231

36" iroks
15x8 allied 32 bolt black beadlock wheels

trussed Dana44 front
out of a 1987 jeep j-10
chevy half ton disc brakes
yukon 5.38 gears
30 spline lock right with titanium cross shaft
30 spline alloy/chromo shafts with yukon super joints
warn premium locking hubs
rockkrusher diff cover
high clearance control arm brackets
custom over the knuckle, inverted "T", one ton steering using chevy tie rod ends
u bolt style pinion yoke

Dana60-2 rear
out of a 1973ish international milk truck
caddilac eldorado disc brakes
yukon 5.38 gears
strange engineering 35 spline spool
35 spline moser alloy shafts
whole milk friction modifier (increases locking action of the spool)
SOLID diff cover
ruffstuff antiwrap leaf spring perches
high clearance shock mounts
u bolt style pinion yoke

2" lift coils
custom longarms using a mish mosh of 7/8" heims, currie jhonny joints and ol' fashioned bushings (radius arm)
tnt customs heavy duty trackbar w/ brace and 1/2" bolt mod
10" travel edelbrock ias remote resi's in front
8" edelbrock ias outboarded shocks in back
fancy front brake hoses off of a late 70's dodge van
dodge dakota rear brakeline
bastard leaf pack using all re leaves (from a 3.5" and 4.5" pack
1.5" rocky road outfitters lift shackles
dpg adjustable bumpstop plates
progressive poly bumpstops in back
progressive prothane bumpstops in front

tnt customs unibody stiffeners
custom flat belly skid/crossmember
2x6" rectangle tube front bumper/crossmember
custom 2x6" box tube rocker panels
high clearance fuel tank tuck w/ skid
heavy duty sye with stock front cv shaft in the rear
t-case is clocked for flat belly

10lb co2 tank
grand cherokee 60/40 split rear bench seat
sweet jvc hd radio
doorless mod

Its a solid rig, and goes where i want it to, but it's a jeep, so the project never ends, and I always find something I wan't to upgrade.

Bought it bone stock in beautiful condition In january of 2007, 110k miles for 700bucks, just needed a new transmission, and proceeded to swap everything from my previous build over.

petrol tank tuck

crossmember/skid

truss, made from 2x6 x 5/16" steel (overkill yes, but aint no kill like overkill, plus it was free)

acos with prothane coil spring insert, you can also see my tmr front frame strenghteners here.

this acts like a progressive bumpstop, i like my jeep low for crawling, but you need some compression and good bumpstops for jumps and high speed stuff. I modified my bumpstop tower with some schedule 40 pipe which fits snugly inside the poly insert, i will make a floating plate that fits against the acos giving the insert a flat surface to compress against.

right now i have quite a few things on order and things that need to be installed. the jeep needs to be competition ready by may 2nd.

including

nitro gear and axle alloy shafts for the front 44
open carrier
lock right
edelbrock remote resi shocks
progressive rear bumpstops
hella 500's (gotta have the bling)
waggy steering box
waggy drop pitman arm (same drop as xj ,but longer throw)
entire front axle (being rebuilt)
modify crossmember so no bolt heads are hanging underneath
trim bumpstops to fit

Here are some pics of it in various situations

The stance on this thing is straight up sick man. Can you get a pic of it sitting next to a stock XJ?
