Well my Dana 30 with the 4.10s arrived yesterday and to my surprise it is very rust free! The rotors and calipers are also in really good condition, and it looks like the pads are pretty new!

I'm going to the junk yard today to hopefully pick up leaf springs, a tie rod and whatever else I can find.

Well, apparently the junk yards around Missoula are closed on weekends... who knew. I've only been here about a year and a half.

Should I look into shackle relocation boxes at this point? I am planning for about 4.5-5 inches of lift.

If I did, I would be into 1-1.5" for the boxes, 1 inch lift shackle and the rest spring...

Can someone with experience chime in here?

Can I just get away with longer shackles for now?

Love the look of your Jeep in stock form, and can only imagine how nice it'll be when modified more.

Two door, 5 speed Cherokees unite!

Alright, well I put an order in to Qtec for a set of JKS shackles, an inner shifter boot, a shifter cover seal, as well as a shift rod bushing.

I also ordered a new OE shift **** from team cherokee.

Going to the junk yard tomorrow after class to get my leaf springs and every thing else.

So I found a V8 ZJ front driveshaft... didn't think it was gonna cost so much from the yard ($125). I checked around on car-part.com and it seems like that is actually on the lower end for driveshafts so... looks like I'm droppin $125 bones.

Those bar pins can be a ***** to get in the bushings... trick is get some hand soap and cover the bushings and the bar pins with it (bushing should already be in shock...put the bar-pin in a vice and press the shock down onto it.

Good luck with JY's around Missoula. Most of them have closed down. There is a junk yard out in Arlee, it's kind of hit and miss and the dude that runs it can be bipolar as well...
