Project 2nd Chance
About 2 months ago my 90' Cherokee took a dump and threw a rod. I was gonna find a motor and get it back on the road when my cousin called and ask if I was still looking for a motor. I told him I was and he asked if I wanted his for $200. I asked what he was doing with the rest of it and he said he was scrapping it. I told him is give him $250 for the whole thing and I drove it home title in hand. I was tonight to swap the motor but the more I drove it the more I thought why go through the trouble. Everything works but I does have a little rust but nothing bad and its been hit in the front end. So now our old blown up one is the parts Jeep. Here's a few pics of it. My only plans for it is to fix the front end, clean it up, install a 3" budget lift, 31" tires, and some Soft 8s.
Parts Jeep stripped of its parts.

That's awesome man. Looks sweet. I'd love to set this one up on a 6" lift but a 3" is gonna have to do. The wife has to be able to get a car seat in it lol. This one has a new head, thermostat, water pump, gaskets, alternator, and starter. My uncle replaced everything last summer.

That was certainly a giveaway price, less than scrap value! Having had multiple Jeeps at anywhere from stock to 6.5" lift, you will find 3" will give you enough lift for 30's and it will still go down the highway and not kill you on fuel mileage. Unless you are a hardcore wheeler it will take you most anywhere you want to go, certainly trail riding with the family. Congrats on your good fortune and having such an awesome cousin!

I got 12 mpg with this lol. I miss my old truck.
I definitely got lucky on the price. I've sold some parts and scraped the old parts Jeep already and it brought me over $400. I'm planning on running 31" tires because we're not gonna be drive it much. My wife drive the Malibu and I drive my Sonoma. It's pretty much a spare winter driver.
