To give a likl back ground. This is my truggy. I have owned this rig for 8 yrs. It started life as my DD and the weekend warrior to trail beater.

31's no lift


Then it went to 33's with and drop brackets with tons of booty fab, still sua in rear



Then to SOA with flat black paint


Then installed a Rigid CO FBW... with a cheap winch



Then I went to Terra flex Long arm upgrade kit and Alcan rears.. the alcans worked great, but not so great on the front. Also did an 8.8 swap

SO then I proceed to beat on this rig for a yr and a half... ON my way to Paragon in Oct 2005


Then went to crozet in Nov 2005 and my wheeling life changed. Kept getting denied so we Lincoln Locked my 8.8... Talk about a huge difference.... now I was getting my self in situations that required a cage

SO at the time my fab skills were minimal... so I hired Independent4x of Ashland Va to do the work.

NOw the build plans are 1tons, 39.5's, GM 4.3/700r4/231/300 and some serious rework of suspension and cage

Picked these up yesterday...

2.5 Swayayway race runners..


I am not doing the install on the 4.3 as I worked a deal for another guy to install it and get it running for me... so Pong will get a 2wd beam.. and dragged over to my buddy's shop for that install.

i see the race runners....but what kind of link setup are you gonna run? and are they for the front or rear? also, what are your plans for the cage?

sounds like a pretty stout setup your slappin in.

For the rear I am going to get a set of 2" air shocks, double triangulated 4 link. The front is going to be a 3 link with a track bar. Build plans are also calling for full hydro. I am aiming for a low 20's belly skid.

Plans for the rear are to start over

No need to try and make the tubes work.. when I plan on shortening the wheel base from 113" to 105". I am also planning on eventually converting the 14FF to resteer so... I have to figure that into the design Also doing it that way there will be no compromises in strength, function and looks.

It should be going to another shop end of this week for the motor and trans swap.(4.3 700r4). I am waken waiting for RK to get back with my vendor to see if they will build me their 3 link 4"longer... That would put my front axle about 2" in front of balancer

Welll Thanks to Matt and derrick for giving me a hand getting pong on the trailer..


Here we are after putting 2wd beam and 4cyl coils in the front




And here it is on the trailer. It will leaving to go to my buddy shop where motor and trans shop wil happen



And yes those are trailer tires on the 2wd beam

Work has started... since I will be shortening the front, no need to keep exo tubes from the cowl forward.



Radiator will be in the back.. so all that going to scrap pile



Rigid co bumper off. 4.0 is still in there at pic time.. but not for much longer.

Motor is out

The motor is available for purchase. Less then 20k on remaned crank, new oil pump, timing chain. Make an offer. Motor wil come as seen with aw4 still on it

Some more work got done today.

Pulled 2wd beam out, and set frame at belly height



Then set a tire in there to see how cool it would look



Then really couldnt help myself... and had to mount the 39's
