Hey will the drivetrain of a 1989 Cherokee fit an 87 Cherokee? 87 has a amc 150

4x4 standard, 2.5L 4cyl

someone will correct me if I'm wrong but, I think you should be fine. the 86 is the cut off with the firewall being further forward so a 4.0 won't fit. if I remember correctly the 87 model year was the first of the 4 litre, before that it was either the 2.5 I4 or the 2.8 v6.
