OffRoadK9's 94 Grand Cherokee Expedition Rig

Picked up my first Jeep about a month ago, so excited for the build process and future wheeling time. Kind of a novice to all of this so will be learn as I go.

The Plan:
Build into an Expedition Rig ready to handle almost anything. Will get more details as I go along. Mostly once I have the funding for it lol

Jeep Details:
1994 Grand Cherokee
4x4 Quadra-Trac Automatic
5.2L V8

Investment Costs:
Jeep - $200
Cooling System - $75

Current Project List:
-Remove carpet and check for any rust
-Rhino line floor and possibly reinstall carpet
-Fix overheating issue, new thermostat and hoses with coolant flush
-Fix excessive steering wheel play, tightening gear box
-Replace tie rods and ball joints if needed
-Fix headliner
-Remove running boards

Future Project Ideas:
-Roof rack
-Lift
-Front and back bumper
-Exterior spare tire mount
-Rhino line paint job
-Cargo area pull out drawers

Nice ZJ! Mine is the 4.0, but I had soem over heating issues as well and a new tstat fixed those fine. I love the NP249 in mine, makes spur of the moment offroading easier. How high are you thinking of lifting yours? BTW, those running boards will get beat off if you go wheeling.

Thanks! Yea wanted a 4.0 but couldn't be the price on this one lol Lift wise not sure yet, haven't looked to deep into that. High enough to clear most things, but not to high that makes on street driving to crazy. It will still see a lot of pavement. Good point on the running boards, will add that to my list.

here is mine. 4.0 with 2" BB and 31s. I went wheeling a couple weeks ago and was surprised at just how capable it is. I hung with the guys that had more lift and bigger tires, just had to think through a little more.

Also, with the headliner, I did mine in bedliner cause it was falling apart. I like it.

Lookin good on the trails. 31" seems like a pretty good size, maybe 33"s. For the headliner did you bed line the fibery heat shield thing, whatever its called, thats under the fabric itself. Or did you just bedline the metal roof?

I pulled the board and all out and sprayed the metal. look in my build thread. Im also going to bedline the lower portion of the body, from the top of the cladding down, I think..... I also drive mine to work alot, thats 60 miles each way.
