Subbed, Always wanted to build a street Jeep. If I ever do one though it will have to be a 97+ 2 door 2wd like yours, but with a manual

I went back and forth for a long time between manual and auto, and eventually decided Id be better with the auto for a couple reasons

Gear ratios
launching
consistency
reliability
cost

with the line pressure maxed out, and a shift kit this thing is pretty close to a manual anyway.

That wrap isn't going to hurt anything right? I work in a motorcycle shop and always recommend that if you use your motorcycle for anything other than racing do not wrap your exhaust because driving it for long periods of time like that does more damage than good.

do you recommend that just for fun? or do you have a good reason for telling people that?

the issues with wrapping; it can trap in moisture and cause rust.
well i dont know about you, but my exhaust is always way to hot to have any moisture on it, plus its heat coated and stainless.

on motor cycles Maybe the heat could burn a valve or something, but i doubt it, especially on our iron heads.

only other problem is it causes more stress on the header itself. if its a good header, than that doesnt matter, but yes that may be my only issue, at which Ill test out the warranty, or just buy a new one, because going fast is worth buying a header every year and a half

also motorcycles dont really have an under hood temp issue

I have a header (not installed yet) that I ceramic coated the inside and the outside, supposedly keeps the heat down. I think master series had the stuff, can't remember, buddy did it for me when I was overseas, it is sitting in my garage.

So you missed the part about me modding it, or the part that i have a 2wd so Fitment isn't a problem

I'm sure it'll work but having 2wd doesn't change how the headers flange mounts to the cylinder head.
What all did you do to mod it?

most people that have had fitment issues, were with clearance to the DP. the flange is flat, so im sure it will bolt up...if not at least they are expensive

that looks nice while i understand how heatwrap helps keep the heat inside the header and out of the engine bay another thing that really helps is jet coating it, my friend has a jet coated header on his honda and after getting on it pretty hard for a good 20 minutes i can pop his hood and its not that hot in there and i can put my hand almost directly on his header and not feel that much heat at all and i mean within 1/4 inch away

nice civic in the background hahah

i may have a jeep now but i grew up street racing fwd hondas lol i grew up jeep is alot more fun and not illegal

Got my new street wheels. Low profile and decent grip. Really makes all the difference in keeping the jeep where it belongs. Plus they look sick.

Now, just lower it about 3 inches and you'll be good to go.
