Newb Here
Hey all.....been lurking around here for the past cpl weeks. I just bought a 1991 Cherokee Laredo 4X4. Never had a Jeep before.....what was I thinking????? It seems the possibilities are endless, and our local junkyard (U pull & pay) has been my paradise. I picked up some Procomp Shocks and stabilizer for 25.00. My buddy is a Jeep Freak and has been givin me a hand. I threw some Grand Cherokee V8 front springs which gave it about 2" of lift. I put some 3" blocks in the back (i know, i know) . I just got a pair of Daystar 2" spring spacers today, and will be putting them on Monday.
I added some Pacer 15X8's with 4 Nexen Roadian 30X9.5 . Not gonna go tooooo crazy with the lift as it's my DD.
I got the Yeep for 2K.....it has 127K on the odometer, but it was towed behind a motorhome for 10 yrs, so I'm not sure of the actual mileage. I do know that it runs solid and everything works....P/W, P/L, power seats.
I appreciate all of the info on here, and will be referencing some of your ideas for the Killer Tomato (freeking Jeep paint!!)

Stiil a newb....still here!!!
Just finished the two inch coil spacers. I think I like jeeps now.
On to aesthetics........paint is a few months away, but after seeing some of the Rhino-lined rigs......I'm torn....paint or liner?
Again, I am mechanically challenged!! Some of the tips I've tripped over on CF has been priceless.

Rhino
It seems the concensus is to do a half n half with the rhinoliner. Question.........do you have it done at line-x or a rhino liner store, or the pep boys herculiner do-it-urself?? I figure even if I have it done at a rhino dealer, it still would be cheaper than a quality paint job. Whatta ya think?

WT?????
Well, I was going to take "Mater" for his first trip....three hours across the state this weekend. I decided to have the oil changed on Friday nite, just for a little extra insurance. So......I took it to Tires Plus and had them change the oil. I knew it had a little leak right around the drain plug, so I specifically asked them to change the gasket.
To make a long story longer, it drove like a champ, no problems except for the large plume of smoke that seemed to follow me for the last few miles. I parked it and watched anxiously as oil poured from the engine onto the exhaust. It continued to drip incessantly all weekend. My son and I beat the heck out of it in a little bit of mud all day Sunday.
To my suprise it took me all the way back home (After a few qts. of oil).
I took it back to Tires Plus and asked them to recheck their work.........
They FORGOT TO PUT A NEW DRAIN PLUG GASKET ON>>>>>>All weekend with NO GASKET.
So they put the new gasket on, apologized and I went on my way. No oil leakage as of yet, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Yup...If you want something done right, do it yourself.....serves me right for being a lazy ***.
