Ok, so today my parents decided to take me out to dinner. After dinner i was walking to what i thought would be my mom's Cadillac, but....Instead I was given a key to a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, with only 113,000 miles. My mouth dropped, they completely caught me off guard. It has everything I was looking for. It has the straight 6 4.0L Engine, automatic, 4x4, everything you could ever need in a JEEP!

This will be a very slow build, because I have 1 job that produces little money. So I am in search of another job so I can speed up the process. Gonna wash it tomorrow morning, and take it to the shop, cant wait!!!

Nice! That thing looks clean... No cancer yet either! My parents pulled that on me too but it was more like "so what do ya think of this?"

I have a question? When I push on the brakes to a certain point they will make a clunking noise. It will just make 1 clunk and than be done? WHat could that be? I think that it is a U-joint problem but not sure could you help me out? If you could tell me what the problem could be, how I can fix it, and possibly how much it would cost that would be great! Still new to the Jeep world and would appreciate any help whatsoever! Thanks...

Also, sometime when i shift from reverse to Drive it will shift in hard? Is that just what cherokee's do or is there another problem i should look into changing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks again for looking

Great looking Rig man! I have a sweet deal on some rims for 250, and right now im just working on getting noises and such fixed and stopped. (i hate noises) So hopefully tomorrow i'm gonna pull off my brakes clean em and hope it stops the little grabbing clunk, if that doesnt work than might have to replace u-joints. Than i Have to figure out where a little squeaking sounds is coming from cause it bugs me. haha. Is your jeep a 98? Looks really good, anymore pictures?

wish i could have had a jeep as my first car. clunking while coming to a stop or taking off is likely ujoints, could be other things though. always start with the easiest most common issues when troubleshooting. are the squeaks coming from the front/rear, inside or outside? lots of squeaks and creaking in my xj, i just turn the radio up. im more worried about clunks, pops and bangs.
