NEW LEASE ON LIFE (93xj2wd) build!!
Okay.. About four years ago I bought this xj
when I bought it, the motor ran great, but it would not shift until 4000 rpm., I thought the tranny was bad in it, I drove it like that for two years. Then it started making this horrendous noise in between the tranny and engine... So I parked it.. It sat for two years..I was thinking it was screwed.! Until I found these forums.. It made me decide to fix the thing.. |
So here we go
http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/58595331.jpg as it sat.. I went and pulled a junkyard tranny http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/b65c6b18.jpg put the tranny in... I pulled it out and cleaned her up!! http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/a4423754.jpg it had alot of bad wiring so I replace the panel and wiring http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/0671bb25.jpg I replaced, oil pump, water pump, alternator, and put brand new a/t tires on it!! http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/ac1481f7.jpg I think there tough enough!!... My aux fan was all jacked up and broken and the wires were all freyed, http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/7dacc36e.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/d3ee0a46.jpg placed the new one in http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/1a73f018.jpg I put a dummy switch for a starter button http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/f36fc4d9.jpg |
I am hoping to put a small lift kit on it soon.and possibly
a cold air intake, then a brush gaurd if I can find a decent price |
Btw the tranny wasn't bad...I read on these forums how to fix it
check the tcu!! I just unplugged it, and now it shifts fine, manually but my g/f insist on getting a new one http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/fad172b4.jpg |
I also added two other brakelights on the top rear window
http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/7dab4208.jpg |
I also added marker turn signal l.e.d.s to the rearview
mirrors.. They blink with the blinker http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/807e7e35.jpg |
I placed the IAT sensor on the breatherbox
and removed restrictor http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/z...7/16e4ae48.jpg |
nOt too shabby.. I think a 2 or 3" lift would suit it just fine

I was also wondering if someone knew of the easiest and cheapest way to
lift it a couple inches.. |
BODY LIFT... jk jk. I would do a bastard pack in the rear and bigger coils/spacers in the front. Other options include shackles or AAL in the rear. I would not do blocks.
|
for 2 in lift you can get coil spacers and shackles. better to get shackles than AAL because when u go bigger and get like tire carriers and stuf you'll probly end up using the spacer to get it back up to the right height
|
The coil spacer hard to do yourself?
What about the deaf springs?... Mine look all worn out.. Out of place kinda.. I'll post a pic to show you guys and you let me know if I should repair/replace!! |
okay im sooo pumped i get paid tomorrow!! im getti a brake job and new shocks!!! possibly a lift with the shocks!!
