Heres my 85 Cherokee and my 46cj, both have big plans but im starting on the Cherokee, im thinking maybe 6 inch lift with maybe 32s to start out with, i have already made a roof rack but not liking the way it looks maybe it will look better with the jeep a lil higher in the air

i would suggest if you plan on lifting higher than 5" get the long arm lift mines a short arm and it makes the ride interesting but i bought mine already lifted now i don't know how much flex the long arm has but i know my short arm i have flexed 8" but sure it will go longer once i get longer brake lines plus i have to replace tie rod ends they are sloppy loose

got a tall short arm as well, ride is a little rough (understatement)

the long arm should flex even better though (if designed correctly), plus it gives an awesome smooth ride due to the control arm angle being more parallel to the road

nice lookin jeeps by the way

well that thing has a funny story to it, so ever scene i was like 9 iv always wanted a ****** pickup and so my dad bought one with no motor or tranny, and said it was mine, but at 9 i was never thinking about trucks. so the ****** pickup has just been sitting in the shop for a long time probably 6 years, and i was givin a ol short box chevy(15 at teh time) to wheel with my dad and all his crazy friends and that got me to meet a ton of people that knew what they were doing and i came across this guy that had this 46cj that just didn't want to do anything to it( i think he hates jeeps) so i was askin him about it and all and finally i asked him how much hed sell it for, and he told me "well kid if you really want it you can have it" so there i was with a free ugly as heck 46cj, it was like 6 diffrent colors( ill post a pick if i can find it), and i started to really like this cj and i noticed my dad getting angry because he always wanted me to have the ****** pickup. so now iv been working on this cj for a wile and iv been wanting to put a flathead or some v4 in it, but the guy i got it from had no tital so my mom told me i shouldn't put it together unless i have the papers, in my hand, so its not just sitting in the shop waiting for something to happen.so far iv cleaned it up and painted it flat black, patched some holes and bolted the fenders on and wheels. haha wow didnt expect to put a life story here

the Cherokee was bought for $400 and some labor it needs work
needed something to drive me to school, im not sure but every now and then the front end knocks
i cant feel anything in the steering it all seams tight as can be, iv tryed to look at teh u joints but theres a rubber boot over them, the noise only happens somtimes when i wheels on it, im thinking its the gears in the frount end because when its in 2wd the front drive line should spin freely with the twist of your hand correct? well it only spins about 1/2 way and it stops,

You would be suprised at what you can do with a 250pc tool set trust me. Good that you have another engine and tranny. I have the 4cyl w/5sp. From what I understand if you want to swap in the 4.0 you have to put an indention in the firewall cuz supposedly the 84-86's were shorter or something like that. I was hopin you had the lesser of 2 evils(the I4) but hey win some loose some. That chief looks really nice man. Cant wait to see it finished. Wait Jeeps are never ever finished.
