update: the paint was done long ago, but when I tried to upload pictures photobucket was being stupid so I gave up. I will try again. the truck is now black and red with daedric lettering on the hood, and the skyrim logo. im also 3/4 of the way through the trans swap. I got an 87 Comanche, 4.0, auto, I forget what they called the tow package, but it has a dana 44 rear with a posi and disc brakes. the comanche auto is going in her xj, and her (****ty pukegoat) 5 speed is going in the Comanche until I can get my hands on an ax15.... also got a set of axles for her xj, dana 30/ Chrysler 8.25 rear with 3:55 gears. I know that's not the best gear ratio for 33s, but its better than the factory 5 speed gearing (3:05 or 3:07, don't remember off the top of my head) everything should be done Friday.

rear 3" aal installed.
Chrysler 8.25 rear installed.
new rear brake hose installed.
center console from my parts jeep, installed.
the carpet in the hatch area was removed. and it was wet when it came out..
all of the upper rear shock bolts broke off. all of them..
I cut thru the floor above the upper shock mounts to drill out the broken bolts (cut 3 sides of a rectangle, bend it up. when im done it will be bent back down, tack welded, and bed lined over)
im making bpe's for both front and rear
rustys rear shocks, ghetto fronts.
found a fuel leak at the fuel filter
new u joints, and rear driveshaft out of a 2000 xj with 8.25 rear
upgraded to cooling system from a 98
pulled 5 speed, and installed aw4 auto. huge pain in the ***.
still need to do:
finish rear shock installation.
bleed rear brakes.
figure out how to run the e-brake. any ideas??? 8.25 cables are too short, I guess ill try to install d35 cables on the 8.25? too bad I cut them to get them off
install front d30 with 3:55 gears
plug all of the old d30 vacuum lines
brown dog motor mounts
33x12.50s and d windows
possibly make a cowl hood (up to gf)
the goal is to have a nice expedition build. the exact details are up to her with a slight input from me. definitely sticking with 3" and 33s. eventually go to 4:11s and air lockers WAY down the road. nothing outrageous, just needs to survive the north maine woods, some Colorado trails, and anywhere else it takes us.

got the rear shocks installed today, and fixed the fuel leak at the filter. aaaand.... that's it. its cold outside, and it colder in the garage than it is outside of the garage.
I used a suicide wheel to cut lines in the factory upper shock nuts (a small tack weld on each corner, and one fat tack at the top of each nut from the factory) and then chiseled them out. then I welded a 2x1" strip of 1/8" steel to the head of each bolt, installed them from the top, and closed everything up. maybe ill get the new front axle in tomorrow, depends on the weather.

small update. the jeep is now at 3" lift, on 33/12.5 a/ts and 15x10 d windows. got some new rustys white body shocks, because your not wheelin in the south unless your runnin white bodies fixed the coolant leak, new calipers because the pass side caliper seized up on rt 1. driving home blowing smoke was real fun, and killed a brand new set of pads . just a bunch of small stuff. fixed the drivers seat, so it flips forward now.
next up is a home made roof rack and rear storage.

when I took it in for inspection, it failed for no cat and no fender flairs. I thought va had no tire coverage laws except for commercial vehicles, anyone know for certain? we came home, swapped wheels/tires with my moms xj to avoid the tire coverage crap, and I had the stock exhaust from my Subaru wagon laying around so I cut one of the cats off and welded it on the jeep. 2 hours after failing inspection, it passed.

yeah, this one is hers. she grew up in Colorado, what part are you from? I don't currently have an xj, I sold my last one. I have a 87 Comanche metric ton, 3" lift on 33s, 4.0, 5 speed, 3:55 gears, and im saving up for a 97-01 xj, that will also be an expedition build, 3" lift on 35s with air lockers and an offroad teardrop.
