My first 98 xj build with pics!
Ok here goes nothing. This is my first xj build. I wanted a suv that could be a beast off road and still pull my motorcycle from place to place. So I present you with my 98 classic 4.0 4x4 I bought for 2000.00 bucks.
Ok the things i knew. 142000 miles....so what no big deal. rattle in the cat converter, headliner falling down, minor dints, small leaks, right mirror glass broken, and check engine lamp on due to miss. I think thats it. Now i get it back to the shop check and find the miss. Next thing I know the engine is in the shape.........
the miss was number one and three cylinder leak through the intake valves. Sent the head to the machine shop for new valves and seals and next this i know im getting the call that my head was cracked. Ok get me a new one. 450.00 my cost O well no turning back now. I put the new head on spark plugs, replaced all gaskets and she started right up. Coolant leak at raditor cap 5.00 bucks for a new one. Then i removed the headliner removed the old fabric and had it recovered for 80.00 bucks. Put it back in and it look great.................
Next I installed a used right side power mirror 37.00 bucks. Removed the Cat converter and repaired, cough cough....freebie. OK now the fun part. Before I bought this beast I Already bought a RC 4.5 inch lift kit new wheels with 31 inch tires that were waiting for me to install. Ok now what you all have been waiting for............................................... .................................................. .................................................. ..........................
At the end I did a little bit more work then attended But I really wanted a white classic. I loved the white xj with painted moldings. But now I have a vehicle with at least half of a new engine. I went with the new MT sidebitter wheels with the Dick Cepek tires. The wheels just look a little bit better then the regular old black wheels. Tell me what you guys think!

Thanks dude. I really like the white classics. I could have bought one a little cheaper but I really wanted this one. O yeah and the speakers in the headliner were pretty sweet too, lol!
i seriously am in love with your jeep though lol it makes me want to sell my grand cherokee and get a cherokee classic now and make one just like that haha you have one of the cleanest jeeps ive ever seen!!

I'm building a new xj. It's a 99 sport. I'm
Putting in the rc 4.5" x series with sidebitters and 32" stt's. if I want more lift I'll throw in some shackles and spacers but that jeep you got there really makes me like the setup that I want.
