My 91 cheap Jeep build

So i have $3K, and spent $2500 on the jeep, I have 500 bucks left.

I will bed line the bumpers and the bottom of the jeep where the stupid plastic is coming off. I plan on doing fender trimming as well. Already took off the flares. I also resealed the rear diff and put a new gasket on my master cylinder. I am mounting a hi lift on the rear bumper and bought some tow hooks for the front but i guess i need some brakets as well. Any other cheap tricks. I really want to do a bigger spare and mount it inside, maybe a custom box with drawers for tools then i could bed line that as well. Any comment are welcomed.

Thanks

240K, but she drives great. I think the first owner must have had to rebuilt it. It drives way better than all the others i test drove, even with less miles on them. I do think it needs 4.10 gears, lost allot of torque when he put on 33's

Thats a nice rig you have, what year is it and what size lift and tires do you have?

So did some more work today, did prep for the spray bed liner on the bottom of the doors and quarter panels, trimed about 2in of the fenders as well.

Not bad! For 500$ I would get a front bumper and sell those tow hooks then pick up some drings. I would also get 2 or 4 procomp lights. Thats about 400$ Then a CB and what not.

looks really good for 240k.
id honestly spend some of that extra money on new window tint, the faded purple windowws kill the whole thing for me.

Best part is I bought from a mech and has all it's records. Full tune up was done a month ago, along with a records of all parts replaced. I did all diff fluids and fuel filter.

Yea I'll prob pull it off. It's just a trail rig so I'm not to worried about it.

Well I'm down to $200 now with what I've bought. I did get a couple lights for the front bumper. I plan on doing front bumpers in the future but for now I'll have to make do.

Thanks for the feed back.

I really want to figure out something for the cargo area that would have a drawer for tools then mount a 31in spare. Anybody make anything like that.

Destination XJ 05-18-2011 10:33 PM

I was thinking of mounting an old school (or newer) tool box in mine. And bolting it to the floor. That way it wouldnt get knocked around and if you had to stack stuff in there it wouldnt matter but could also be removed.

Another idea I just got was to mount a board that would pull out with the spare in the center and have boxes on the side that could hold tools. Then just have a top board mounted to hide it all.
