Dude on a dirtbike broke my rear driver's side quarter window while going down a trail while I was out at BMRA.

I replaced the window yesterday.

On the way home from my friend's place, the harness for my electric fans burnt up for some reason. Don't think the fuse did its job, so now I gotta rewire part of the harness and figure out if there is an issue anywhere else with the kit.

Need to replace the pinion seal on the rear axle, install new control arm bushings, and find another Np242 to do a better hackntap to and swap in.

Put some 1.25" spacers on the turbines for 4"bs. That's how mine are and love the stance it give my 31x10.50s.

I'm torn between the spacers. I do like how it sits now, but I may try some spacers out sometime down the road.

It'll help with flex and I would think help stability with a wider stance. The turbines look really good though.

Small update

Transfercase is groaning pretty loudly. Time to find another 242.

Also bought a bunch of like-new AC system poarts from another XJ for cheap that Ill be swapping in soon. It will be nice to have AC again!

Also have new control arm bushings to install at some point, but those are easy enough.

Once I get the AC swapped in and another 242 put in, I'll be dailying my XJ while I do some stuff to my Subaru.

My Jeep is in the middle of a transfercase swap, should have it back together by the end of next week.

Man, great buildup! The turbines are cool, but personally I think those Ravines rock on that color combo.

Great to see one of the more unique XJs, built up but not hacked up. Very nicely done!

Thanks! I'll rock the Turbines for a little bit, but I am becoming a little torn on them now that some time has passed. I'll probably get different wheels once I move up to 33s.

Time for another update!

Rear diff killed itself (thinking pinion bearings). My friend that did the install isn't able to check it out and get it fixed for the time being. Sold my Forester so Jeep is supposed to be me daily driver so I can't have it sitting there waiting to get fixed. Ended up picking up another 29 spline 8.25. Swapped that in for the mean time until my geared axle gets fixed.

Also noticed my draglink is bent. So I have an all new draglink and new tie rods to install sitting in the garage. Will get to that this weekend hopefully.

Time for a yearly update I suppose:

Replaced the front draglink and tierod
Went back to stock cooling (+ upgraded fan clutch) since the e-fans weren't doing it for me anymore
New rotors and pads on all four corners, no more ridiculous rattling noise coming from the front

I moved to another house recently, so been getting situated there.

What needs to be done:
Re-gear rear axle
Install frame stiffeners
Fab and install rear anti-wrap bar
Fix horn/headlight time off delay
Fix parking brake
Fix front diff yoke (broke a strap bolt pulling driveshaft)
Check the front diff gear install to make sure it won't pop like the rear did

Saving up money so I can drop this junk off at a shop to get stuff done. I do have some new injectors and battery cables coming, so will need to slap those in at some point too.

What a fun read this was! I didn't see the brand of front bumper you put on mentioned, which brand was it? And how was the install of the oem rear tire swing mount?

Thanks!

The front bumper is an older JCR Offroad bumper.

The install of the rear swing out carrier wasn't too bad. Had to drill out the holes for the mounting bracket on the rear quarter panel and make a big hole in the rear bumper for the locking plate as well. Nothing too hard, was nice having a buddy with a plasma cutter to do the locking plate in the bumper, so you may want to grab the whole bumper off of whatever Jeep you grab the carrier off of.

Howdy everyone! Been a bit. Thought I'd post an update since I'm being super productive at work today

Got some new wheels for the Jeep
Fixed the parking brake. Had to basically replace all of the parking brake components and got new cables that work way better than the OEM cables that I was using
The horns and headlight delay issue is fixed
Finally got the rear end re-geared and a Truetrac installed!

Unfortunately I am trying to get this thing running right. It now has a slightly rough idle and random power loss at freeway speeds. Thinking its an O2 sensor or my exhaust header is cracked enough to start causing issues.

Once I get that sorted out, I need to extract a broken bolt from the front pinion yoke to get the front driveshaft installed. After that, its time to go wheeling!

I managed to pick up a set of 33" KM2s for real cheap, so I will slap those on at some point. Probably when I get long arms installed.

I also moved to another house with a bigger garage and more parking!
