Why thanks Guys
I have been working on shock mounts for my rancho 9000s

CrazyMonkeyBen 11-30-2012 02:52 PM

Looking good.

Where'd you get the super charger? I have been thinking about adding a mild boos set up to mine since it would fit in place of my huge intake manifold. a little boost would help balance out my altitude I think.

Luke95 11-30-2012 03:18 PM

eBay for $50
It's a gm application. I believe from a 3.8L

what kind of death wobble you got?

Luke95 01-09-2013 07:49 PM

The one were you hit a bump at 45 and you are scared ****less because your wheel is vibrating and trying to take off for parts unknown.

McGuinness 01-10-2013 09:03 AM

Well theres 2 different types of death wobble the 1st is once you get up to a certain speed it starts or when you hit a bump has your xj been aligned yet? When you lift a vehicle usually throws it out of alignment because your pulling the body and frame away from the axles therefore throwing the steering out of wack

Luke95 01-10-2013 09:56 AM

Ii hit a bump at like 25 and up and it starts. So I don't know exactly but if I'm over 25 and hit a bump it goes out.
No not yet I think I broke a tre so I was going to get it then do a alignment.

DW can be caused by just about anything being sloppy or misaligned in the steering or suspension system. If you are driving around with a broken TRE that is very likely the bulk of the problem.

Luke95 01-10-2013 10:41 AM

I'm going to fix it and get it allinged

Luke95 01-10-2013 05:21 PM

SO jeeps off the road for a day or two till I get my TRE

8.8 vs 8.25?
8.8 $145 and some fab work.
8.25 $125 bolt in but has disks.

8.25 has drums...

I love my 8.8 so far, but if I had started with an 8.25 I wouldn't have bothered to upgrade. I still don't have parking brake cables.

Luke95 01-11-2013 10:55 AM

Ah that could be a issue how hard Is that to find?

Mountain Offroad has a set for like $125. And there are people in the forums who have modified their existing cables to work.

NewKindOfClown 01-12-2013 11:09 AM

C8.25 can have disc brakes, direct from a Liberty. F8.8 can also have disc brakes, as the one in the bed of my Comanche does. D44 can also have rear disc, as the one I'm building will before I install it.

Just for the record.

Also, the strength the C8.25 and F8.8 both depend on what year and what vehicle they're from.
