My ZJ tie rod came in today and I put it in this afternoon. Cost me a total of about 90 bucks including the tie rod, tie rod end, and adjustment sleeve.
I actually did a pretty good job not messing up my alignment. It’s only a little bit off, but I’ll get an alignment as soon as I feel like dishing out the money for one.
Also got my new Rancho Steering stabilizer in, it matches my Jeep really well!
It might be time to paint my front diff cover red though... New stabilizer and ZJ tie rod upgrade installed Comparison of the ZJ vs XJ tie rods... The ZJ tie rod end is waaaayyyyy beefier than the stock XJ’s

I found this idea on Pinterest. Apparently people have used hood vents from Volvo semi trucks on their Cherokees. This is really cool! I might try this in the future.
Decided to make a new splash guard for my engine because I’m tired of mud getting splashed into the engine bay. It’s been a problem since I had to tear my factory splash guard off.
I went to lowes and found a rubber flooring mat with a diamond plate pattern. Cost 12 bucks.
Then I used tin snips and a razor blade to cut out a duplicate of my junk splash guard. A few new plastic fasteners, and it was on. Works just fine and looks pretty cool too!
That is actually pretty cool... i did not even know they had splash guards, i just thought they only had the front skid plate.
I searched online, man a new splash guard is about $60.00. That's crazy, if you did not throw it away. Ill buy it off you so i could do the same or if you plan to do it as a side hustle, let me know.

i know right!?? All it is is rubber! Crazy that they’re that expensive. I can make another one from the material I have left over and sell it to you if you want.

I scored a brand new Mopar one awhile back for $30 shipped to me off Craigslist. Came across this awhile back.
With shipping would be cheaper but doesn't beat $12. LOL. This site is good for weird things. Problem is they don't show pictures. But I have ordered things from these guys about 4 times and every time it was exactly what I wanted. Can't find something put the Mopar part # in and see. From time to time you will get lucky.
Notice any improvements with the marvel mystery oil? My XJ has 130k on it, but my girlfriends is about to hit 220k and was considering using some kind of additive to the oil. Either that, or 15w40

Honestly I haven’t noticed much yet. Seems the same. My 4.0 runs great but it has a little lifter tap or piston slap sound when you first start it. I’m paying attention to see if it makes it go away. Maybe I need more miles on it before it does anything.
It might be overkill but since i have driven my jeep (87) i have only used rotella 15-40 for oil. Never made a sound and my oil changes are every 6 months... no matter what, but my jeep is more fun than DD. So, 500 miles the most a year... for now

Just curious if there were any specific reasons you're interested in an additive besides high mileage? I think I'm going to use some on my next change but I had to replace my head and I have a bit of lifter tick, and generally think it will help flush any gunk left over from the water/coolant event lol. Just curious what other reasons folks have. Hope Nugget is in good health otherwise! Cheers
